| Ive been riding bikes a long time but never had a scoot....found a 2005 SW locally with only 2500 miles on it and the exterior is showroom.
Any thoughts on where I should start as I ensure its roadworthy. It starts and drives with no issues - I'm thinking of doing all fluids and filters and go from there.
Secondly - do you have a good source where I can get a maintenance schedule as well as how to info?
Thanks in advance - looking forward to learning al I can about this new ride |

| If you don't know what maintenance has been done then all fluids is a good start. I would also look at the date stamp on the tires, probably a good chance they are original. If they are, then they are 13 years old. Not sure, but I think bridgestone hoops were oem, somebody will correct me if I'm wrong.
Not sure if the belt needs replacement due to age or miles, I would think miles so its probably ok. |

| When I bought my 05 I wanted it to be ridden without the thought of - what - anything. Changed ALL fluids, belt, filters cleaned everything in the drive train, new tires, brakes were very good the bike only had 8k on it. Since then I've put more miles on it than the first two owners with 0 problems. |

| Yep. Like one of the posts says above, bring the recommended maintenance up to date, along with those date codes on the tires, and you'll be ready to ride. I have an '04 with 16k. |

Pretty much what oldwingguy said. I bought an 08 that sat for two years under a tarp in FL. I trailered it home and did all of the above plus a new battery because it was totally dead. Haven't had any problems with it since. Welcome to the site. Lots of info here. |

| Thanks for the warm welcomes!
Can anyone tell me the difference between a 600 and a 6ooA - as I mentioned earlier I'm new to these scoots - spending the weekend riding it and getting to know it better
TIA |

| The "A" designation is for anti-lock brake system, I do believe. That's what my '05 has. Oh, and by the way,,, welcome to the site !! :-))
