| In my intro to the SW forum I told of my eBay purchase of my 2009 SW from a guy in INDY and trailering back to PA. The former owner was a cat lover and cats loved the SW, as a matter of fact when I picked up my scooter several were lounged on the saddle! Upon arriving back from IN and starting to get my SW in order, I struggle to clean the cat paw marks off of the saddle, but the best/worst was yet to come. My neighbors have several outdoor tom cats they let roam, and when they caught scent of my newly arrived SW, they needed to mark it for their own. Constant almost daily hose down around the scooter. Since it was covered no real harm was done but still not pleasant. On to the next "cat thing" upon working through my maintenance check list came air filter. The plastic body panel intimidated me to get t the air filter (learned you people called it Tupperware) but my son a skilled MC mechanic showed me how to remove them. I uncovered the ultimate cat revenge, a haired up air filter. Ever seen worse? - Attachments

I USED to have traveling cats who would climb up onto bike....what I did was to get one of those driveway alarms and set it outside next to bike, and when any animals would get close it would go off...I have NOT had an animal problem since.

Is that a CATtasrophe? My brother lived in the country with a shop with attached carport. Squirrels got to the motor and chewed the wires. The next time I visited, I noticed a wire set up around his truck about five inches off the concrete. He had set up an electric fence. No more chewed wires.

That looks a bit like a K&N, flush from the opposite side of the hair ball with warm soapy water ( Dawn ) and rinse well, air dry re-oil, install.

I have two outdoor cats that like to sleep on the saddle of my SWing. They preferred the Goldwing saddle, but since it has gone to a new owner... They have expensive tastes I guess. Anyway, they keep other cats away so no "marking" is done to my scooter and the other advantage is they keep the rodent population GONE. We have pack rats in Arizona and they can destroy wiring as mentioned above. So I live with the cats and put an old towel on the seat to catch most of the hair... Sometimes I replace it with a clean one.

I used to keep a bike at a friends house who had cats. I took the bike out one day and it took three sets of lights before I figures out what the smell was. Memo to cats, the exhaust is not a toilet!

I spent the $40 bucks for the Honda service manual. I kept it in the trunk of the scooter. When we returned from a trip to Florida, I decided to go for a ride. When I opened the trunk to get my gloves I discovered that a family of mice had turned the manual into what looked like blown insulation.

Peanut butter baited mouse traps, one by each tire one at the side or centerstand, one on either side of a door way or garage door, it's real busy for a couple weeks starting about the first frost, eventually it slows down.

Unless the picture doesnt show it, I see a couple of hairs and mostly normal filter gunk. It needed to be changed, that's for sure. A good wash and detail will hopefully get the smell off the seat and help to lose the kitty attention.
