Degrees, miles and age = a big ole No hills this time I did the Pickaway Plains, and Scioto river valley, a slow pleasant ride alongside the old Ohio to Erie canal on down to the Hopewell Indian mound museum in Chillocothe.

Sounds like a good ride for an old guy I always thought that the Erie Canal ran from the Hudson River to Lake Erie in upstate New York. But then, History was not my most exciting subject.

Ohio to Erie Canal = Ohio river to Lake Erie with interconnecting canals, feeder lakes like Grand lake St. Mary and Buckeye lake made up supplemental water. Quite a feat considering it was dug by hand. Yes there is the Erie canal too.

| Okay, thanks for the clarification. I misread your first post as, 'Ohio (River) to Erie Canal'. Now I know.

Next ride will be the covered bridges in the area, even they are connected to some of the feeder canals, Lockville being one of them. The neat to me anyway is they are all withing an hour or two ride of our place.
