| Hi,
I might be buying a Versys X 300 on Wednesday. I sold my CTX700 last year and am getting the bug for another bike. I sat on it and it seems very nice. I just wanted something lighter and didn't want to spend alot of money either. The engine is 39 hp and only 20 ft/lbs of torque but it is a high revver and it seems to like the higher rpm's. It is only 385 lbs wet and with a 4.5 gal tank it should be able to go at least 250 miles.
But if I do get it I will post a pic or 2 and tell you about it. |

| I've been looking for a second set of wheels, and after much browsing around I've settled on a pre 1996 Vulcan 500. I prefer the cast wheels to the post 1996 spoke wheels. Nice low seat and overall weight. Now if only the dang wabbit would show up !!! Jay. |

| Can't go wrong with Kawi. Wow, 39 hp on 300 cc. Definitely enough power and highway competence. And range is fantastic with that large a tank. Nice and light to push around. Price will be competitive, too. The Honda 300 cc machines are also considerations, if you haven't yet researched them. Still, can't beat proven Kawasaki.
I have had friends who owned the Kawi 500 Vulcans, and they like them very much--relaible.
I had an '08 Kawi Vulcan 900 Custom that was great on gas (about 55 mpg; once got 63 mpg on a down-river trip), comfortable, and reliable. |

| @bikehiker , That's good. I only got 68-70 mpg on my Forza. I loved my Kaws, but I still prefer my Hondas. A good day in the cage still isn't as good as a mediocre day on the bike.
Back to the Versys, I've read of several people having them and not one of them regretted it. I'm sure there are a few, but there always is.
So, I guess this means Jeff is going green, eh? |

| Kawasaki just came out with new Ninja 400 twin. Maybe in the future that engine will be in the Versys.
I looked a the Versys last year. Good bike but not for me. Can't go wrong it will be a great bike enough power to be fun.
I never owned a Kawi. 5 Honda 2 Suz. 2 Yamaha. |
