Heart of America Maxi-Scooter (HAMS) Meet-Up

I was asked by someone what they could bring to the rally... the answer is a healthy appetite for the Friday Night and Saturday Morning meals hosted by the Gateway Maxi riders of the St. Louis Scooter Club! There will be St. Louis styled pizza and toasted ravioli on Friday and on Saturday morning, Gooey Butter Cake (invented right here in St. Louis)

Do we know the location of the "Friday Night" location ... just in case we do not arrive before 20:00??

Dale... I am scheduled to have my cast removed June 9th. Dr told me yesterday that he did't want me riding that soon after the cast is off. Not sure where my phscky (sp)will be after being confined to a 4 wheel chair. Looks like I will miss this one. No one is more unhappy about this than I am. I may drive up for a day just to meet some of the guys,but, that is a long shot too right now. Mad

I had an e-mail exchange with Maggie this morning. She would like to take those of us arriving early on a city tour (on our bikes) of the sites of St. Louis. I like the idea, will be a less stressful way to work out the kinks after a long ride day and pre-rally rides.

So for all who are attending and plan to get there early - the 10th is a Tour of St. Louis on our bikes.

I am so looking forward to this.

The ride on the 10th is sounding like fun and the SLSC has it's regular meeting on the 9th, we may have a chance to get in a pre meet and greet.

What time is pre-meet and greet??

I may do an Iron Butt on the way to HAMs. I am thinking of leaving the evening of June 8th (just in case leaving extra day if needed). Chief Rider will meet me in Winona Mo ... we may change the route since he is from the area ... he would know all of the good routes to ride

I don't know for sure when the SLSC meets, but a casual look on their site makes me think 6:15pm or so. As for location, I think they are contemplating meeting at or very near the host hotel that particular Wednesday evening.

Hey Bill the route that you have planed from Winona to St Louis is a good one lets stick to it. I am scheduled to get off this boat on the 2nd and today they ask me to ride over a week

and I said no way.

I can here that Swing calling my name all the way from Missouri. HAMS here we come.

Getting so much closer. I've been on a hectic work schedule and have plenty of volunteer tasks to keep me full time engaged. Sometimes it seems like I work two jobs... I'm looking forward to this trip.

I had originally planned to leave today and do the Iron Butt Sore Saddle, due to a crisis at work I ended up working throughout the night till 5 am ... so it would not have been smart to while exhausted.

I was hoping to delay for 24 hours, but 70% chance of thunderstorms in Dallas is forcing me to leave earlier ... so I will have to split across two days.

My return trip still allows me the chance for an Iron Butt Sore Saddle.

Hope you and Kim can stay dry and get there safely. Thanks again for the video's and posts. I envy you both.

Also, can you get a picture, if possible, of all the members of this site so we can put it on the main forum page. Hopefully you can get Maggie in there too since she is a member here, although she does ride a Burgman. lol. Just kidding. But if it is too much trouble please don't bother but it would be neat to get a picture of the members of this site that are there.

Nice write up and congrats on your successful rally. Hopefully one day I can make it out there. Dale has also been posting things about it too and it sure looked like a lot of fun. Hope everyone got home safe and please feel free to post other kinds of rides or rally's you have on this site too. It seems there were a few that was able to show up and I think a few more wanted too. Thanks.

Came across these 2 diehards in Missouri...

Great meeting the 2 of you.
Dale and Kim are some of the nicest folks I've met on these rides.
They obviously love the ride and life.
I had a great time Thusday and Friday. Sorry I couldnt do the Sat./Sunday rides but family came first.
