Cleaning the inside of my Givi E-46 box this AM, noticed it was made in 1998-----So 19 years of use by me, US/Mexica/Korea/Japan/ Europe. Probably about 500,000 miles...and still serviceable! Hole in top was cut about 15 years ago for dog. I made rain flap out of big plastic bottle.

All of the useless junk that came with box probably failed in first 2 years of use---map or papercase/Stop light/, cord to limit opening too wide of top, made one out of boot lace---- still is black, thanks to oil soaked rag. Had some issues with sealing rubber early on---rubber cement. Lock and hinge that goes with it---broken spring long ago--I do not lock fully as I ride, leaving well worn key in hole...it doesn't fall out---lock when I stay overnite, key can come out then

Bottom line: surely worth the extra cost at onset.
Been on over 10 new bikes/scooters. Box by itself does not seem to bother handling too much---fully loaded, it does if you are not careful.

Heavy tools, etc I carry under seat.

Previous had Hepco & Becker box that lasted many years, too.

Next new scooter will probably get Bestem=price, built in light bar. back rest.
