Finding it hard to screw Tyre Pump onto nozzle because of so little room especially the rear.
Is there a long straight extension with fixed screw head that could be screwed on first and then attach pump to that

I've got one of these - can't remember which one - but it does the trick:

You could get a 90 degree valve fitted which might help. Tyre off job though...

I bought one of these from Amazon (on MikeO's recommendation) about two years ago. They seem to have gone up in price, but I find it useful.

I have a similar one as well. Still a PITA trying to wedge my fingers between the brake disc & wheel to screw on/off the valve stem though.

A friend made a good one by removing the flexible tube from a broken tyre foot-pump.

He has the tube (over a foot long) from the pump, complete with the original fitting with lever that latches on to the tyre valve on one end, and into the other end he has pushed a standard tyre valve which is held in place and sealed to the hose using a Jubilee clip (screw hose clamp).

I've had this problem with clamp on connectors before, so when my last foot pump expired I bought a Michelin twin barrelled one that had a screw on hose connector and a digital pressure gauge. It works fine, the pump hose screws on and off securely as simple as a valve cap.

Yes I find it hard to get in to screw nozzle on which is why I am looking for an extension that has a fixed screw on end. Saw this on ebay and sent for it. Tyre Valve Stem Extension Rod Copper Truck Lorry TWIN WHEEL 100 mm   (have attached photo)  Will see if it is the right thing. Just £1-40.

I use a small 12 volt compressor I got from Home Bargains for four pounds. I let more air out than I could put in with the angled valve that was fitted to the rear wheel, so, when I changed tyres I fitted a straight valve. I agree you have to lie on the ground to take a pressure check but, I accept that as part of owning a Silver wing.

That's a teriffic idea. Sure it may only be ~4 inches long, but that's a big help. I'll have to look for an extersion like that here too. Thanks for the photo.

Those brass valve extensions normally can be bought in any tyre shop for a couple of dollars.

You should get the Fobo TPMS system. It comes with a Bluetooth phone app that lets you monitor the tires. I have been using it for over a year and really liked it. So far it is accurate to +/- .5 lbs. The only negative feedback is that you have to remove the sensor to add/remove air. Fobo does offer a t-valve stem to avoid having to remove the sensor, but I don't know if it will have clearance problems with the small wheels of the Swing.

I understand what you guys are trying to do with the extenders, I have the same A.G.E problem. BUT are you leaving them on or just using them when needed? Are you re balancing the wheel if your leaving them on? If they stay on what's the effect of the added weight on the tire stem, extra weight on the stem is hard on the base of the stem, it's one reason the G.Wings have those supports on there angled stems.

I used my right-angle adaptor on my previous Silverwing, which ended up with a straight valve for the rear tyre, just when using a pump; it lived in the LH cubby.

I use the flexible extension in the same way. It lives under the seat.

I bought a 14" flexible extension that screws on to the valve. It is a Harley product, cost $17.00 Cdn. It helps but you have to be quick removing it from the tyre. It lets some air out while you are screwing/unscrewing it. No shortcuts : you still have to get on your belly or knees !!!
Jay.
On the positive side, it keeps you fit !

With my TPMS system, I only have to get on my belly once every two months to add air. The system will warn you if you need to add air. I think it is worth the $99. My knees appreciate it.

I picked up a flexible adaptor in a bike shop I was visiting the other day.

It's 'Oxford' brand (they sell all sorts of bike accessories, readily available in UK, perhaps continental Europe, but I'm guessing not further afield), and labelled 'Valve Access Tool'. The flexible tube is about 5" long (I'd prefer longer), and it looks quite adequately well made. (I was going to post a pic of it, but can't work out how. Maybe later.)

I haven't tried it out yet, but will report back when I do.

I find a regular tire chuck that's designed to work with dual tires works well on the Silverwing. They won't work on a hand pump since you need a hand to hold it on the tire valve but do work well with a small compressor. I carry a small 12V compressor. I bought it when I had my first GL1800 since that Goldwing doesn't have an on board compressor. These little compressors really don't take up much room and work well. The CO2 cartridges are also a good thing to have along on a road trip. They work well to quickly fill most of a flat tire followed by a bit of air pumped in to bring the pressure up to the desired level.
