As many of you know I've long since given up my wing in favor of a Honda NM4 automatic Motorcycle.
I recently put some new lighting on my bike, but this will work for the wing, or any bike with plastic bodywork, because in the front all bodywork tapers downward and inward for the purposes of aerodynamics.
So here it is on my bike and it will work the same way on your wing.

Sometimes we park in areas where nature still rules...where the ground is home to things that you can slip on or that can bite you.  I wanted lighting that would show me what was around me nearby, not just in front of me. This is good for campgrounds, dirt, gravel, or any unfamiliar surface you happen to have to ride over.

I started with these boat docking lights from Seadog:

I had the stainless steel powder coated shiny black to match my bike.  A good powdercoater can match the color of your wing if you like.

Here is what the side of the bike looks like in the dark with the lights off, and then on:

In addition to adding nearby lighting, they also create a large puddle of light which make you significantly more visible when riding.

These lights are LED and take very little power, and can be wired up to any basic switch, nothing special required.

You can mount them with the leading edge of the light at the front of the bodywork.  It will taper in somewhat.
The lower you mount them the less spread you'll get because the bodywork tapers down.

Searching the web you can pick up the lights for around $110 shipped.
Costs of powder coating (if desired) will vary by area.

If you decide to do this please post pics.

I also decided to add additional distance lighting to my bike.
I chose the Clearwater Lights DARLA model.

They are pricey, but very compact and bright.  2 inches diameter and 2000 lumens EACH!
Clearwater Lights makes a fender mount specifically for the Silverwing.
A couple of cool features:
They are fully dimmable.
They can be hooked up to horn, so that if you hit your horn, they automatically flash to full brightness.
Anyway, great product with fantastic reviews.
Yes you can get driving lights for cheaper, but you get what you pay for.
Here is a front view of both lights.  You can see how low the profile is on the docking lights:

Hi Dan,
Good idea for the 'area' lites. I was wondering tho if those driving lites receive much in the way of "bouncy" vibration from the front shocks???

DickO,

The mounts are small and sturdy, and the lights only weigh 7 ounces each, so there is not much torque on the mount. Since they are mounted to the fender they will follow the front wheel though.
The only way to avoid that is to mount them to the upper part of the shock or somewhere on the bodywork. Clearwater Lights notes they have a specific bracket for the fender mount on a Silverwing.
I could see these easily mounted on one of DennisB's light brackets too.
