I am so happy and pleased to still own my S/W.
I tried to sell (not trying real hard) to sell my scooter but fortunately had no luck.
After three years I bought a Honda ST 1100. The last of the carborated ones, Fantastic!
There is one advice over the years of owning the scooter that I would like to share.
Don't screw with the electronics. It is fine just the way it is.
The headlight bulbs can be changed for brighter ones but in my opinion after trying many different things to improve what is ALMOST PERFECT, I give up.
The quick connect that I bought after a short time, started started giving me problems.
The high beam and (at the same time) low beam would stop working and when i would turn the scooter off, I would have to hit the kill switch in order to turn off the lights. Not right

My ST is faster and better on the road bumps and road grooves, but after adding a custom made back rest, foot pegs and larger windshield, it is still not as quiet or as comfortable my S/W or as comfortable and both get about 50 MPG.
And the support get from this forum is second to nothing. thank you so much for all that help in making this web-sight GREAT

john,

We are glad you are still with us here. I hear the ST is a really nice bike. And this site is only great because of all the members, and that includes you John.

Yep, I've ridden both the ST1100 and ST1300. Both are great bikes. I might have an ST1100 if it weren't that the leg position aggravates my arthritic knees. I like 1100 better than the 1300 not that both aren't great. My BMW K1100LT was a great favorite of mine but the damn knees... Evil or Very Mad

I have to confess, once in awhile I miss the smooth, solid feel of a Goldwing 1800 cruising on a highway.

PostSubject: ST's   Silverwing I_icon_minitimeMon Aug 24, 2015 12:08 pm

Hi Johnd, Ive owned both ST's I loved both of them and frankly the 1100 was my choice as best of the two. I want to caution, I thought it very top heavy. Concentration is required  here. Other than that it would ride hiway like it was on rails. Enjoy, also it is deceptively fast, be careful.

On the St1300 I was in N california on a great ride and I nearly parked it and flew home, so sore were my knees from the riding position. I did work my way home, 1000 miles of discomfort. It was then I bought a Goldwing. Now it's new knees and Silverwing. Cheers.
