Still looking for 2 Silverwings

The last two I looked at were just to expensive but I have found an 06 with 32000 miles that will not start. Current owner put a brand new battery in it and it still just clicks when he hits the starter. Could this be a solenoid or a rely? It is really priced right and I could always use it for parts if that is all it could be used for. The other is an 04 with 6200 miles and runs great. Are the parts completely interchangeable between the two? My wife and I really want to move up to silver wings as they will be the last scooters we may ever purchase. One last question. How many miles can one of these go? I've heard of Honda Reflexes going over 50,000 miles so I was just wondering about these.

As far as I recall, other than color, there is no difference between an '04 and an '06. The change occurred in '08 when the cockpit went to a black textured finish with a latch on the right side cubby and an upgraded ECU incorporating an O2 sensor at the muffler and, maybe, a larger diameter front brake rotor. All in all not a significant concern.

A well cared for Silverwing will last 100,000 miles and they are easy to work on as well. I consider the one with 6200 miles and keep looking for another one. Unless you are good with tools I wouldn't buy a bike that doesn't work. But that is just me. I did alot of small maintenance things on the SWing but I didn't tear the engine apart or other things. But keep looking and I'm sure you will find 2 SWings, but it may be one at a time buying. Keep us informed on what happens.

Unless I am missing something we usually start are first post with a
introduction of our experiences with  two wheel vehicles. I would agree with the previous post that most items are interchangeable between the two mentioned scooters. As far as the starting problem I would check the charge of the replacement battery. You could jump the scooter battery with a car,but not running.
It would also be interesting to know some of the previous history of the scooter. Let us know the out come. Howard

Thanks Guys and to NWSSC I thought I did introduce myself to this forum about 3 weeks ago. I'm 50 and my wife is 49. We started riding scooters together about 6 years ago. We started on Kymco Agilities 125s. After a couple of years we both moved up to the Honda Reflex. She still has her Reflex but I got a 08 Suzuki Burgman 400 about a year and a half ago. We both ride every weekend and she is about to turn 30,000 miles on hers and I just turned 22,000 on mine. Both are great scooters and I do all the maintenance so I do know a little about turning a wrench. That should get us up to speed NWSSC. We just want a couple Swings to have fun on and do some touring with out any problems. We really don't care about the age of the scoot but would prefer ones with fewer miles. Thanks again for the input.

My Piaggio Hexagon would just click when pressing the starter button,if I bounced my weight on the seat it would always start

The brake lever must be pulled back to the second click for it to start.
The side stand must also be up.
Beyond that, I would offer the owner a price based upon a consistently starting bike,
If he wants to do what it takes to get it running, that is his expense.
Otherwise move on.

bought a new 2013 SilverWing in Dec, had a dyi trike put on and runs great  has 92 miles on it. dr says i have to let it go. Black in color
