I know most go for the givi airflow screen ,but Im trying to get some feedback on the MRA screen with the small laminar lip at the top. It only sits as high as the mirrors , yet vastly reduces turbulance claims MRA, Id like to know what owners claim. Anyone fitted one, and how does it perform??

Hi all

I bought and fitted an MRA (not expensive) for the summer and works pretty good. Had some cracking rides around the Welsh mountain roads and certainly looks the part, I found it best with the top lip at it's highest point. That said I've now removed it and fitted back the stock screen coz it was pretty crap at keeping the rain off. So MRA summer - Stock through wet windy months for me. I was looking at trying to fit the top lip to the stock screen but it's smoked and would be right in line with my sight so dismised the idea pronto. the stock screen is fine for comuting the 14 miles a day I do for work. Just hit 5500 on the hoops and the rear one is a slick, just ordered some avons from http://www.tyretectrading.com/store/home.asp and some balance beads from http://www.dynabeads.co.uk/

Safe riding boys and girls

Mark

Mrpw666. Dynabeads are a pain the royal rear. The small beads clog the valve and will let the air out as soon as you stick your gauge on it. Never check tire pressure without having a compressor ready at hand. If you do, you will end up with a flat tire. As for balancing, I don't doubt that it works: my exp[erience could just have been bad tires to begin with. My 404 Dunlop rear on my ACE went slick real quick, and the front is cupping on the left side. Never had that happen before I used the dynabeads.
As for the MRA screen, the weather in my part of the world prohibits the use of a small screen, it is too much of a hassle too, switching back and forth.

I put a MRA screen on a couple of weeks ago, having had the laminar lip on previous bikes (Yamaha Majesty and Piaggio X9). I have found it works really well, I can hear the engine, not the wind, at 60+ mph, and so made big difference. In the rain, of course, the wind not hitting the visor means it is harder to clear, but I use the rubber strip on the index finger... I would recommend it over the Laminar, as the screen can be cleaned much more easily.
