| Dennis or other will probably give you an actual value... Gary's spec is tighten to snug... they have been mounted for about 8 months and I just checked them a week ago... they were still tight. BTW.... the reason I checked... my front fender fell off and exploded when I hit a tough bump between the highway and a bridge. Cost me about $150 ... checked all other screws and bolts to try to avoid any other surprises. I found nothing else loose. Gary |

| Hi Don,
No torque value is given in the Honda Service Manual for these screws or I would have written that information into the installation instructions. Just use your best jugement. But do not over tighten them.

| Thanks Dennis, I don't know if I bought my bracket from you, it looks exactly the same except the plate is Aluminum. I got it from someone on the "other" SWing forum about 2 years ago... never got around to installing it I ordered the RAM cradle and Dual Socket Arm last night so I should have it installed soon. thanks again Don |

| Hi Don,
Yeah...that was Dan that sold those. I designed mine and then found out that he had made 10 and sold them for $50.00 a copy. I think mine is stronger. It's made of 1/8" steel plate not aluminum and I custom make engineered spacers that work really well supporting and holding what ever gets attached.

| Hi Dennis,
Yeah Dan.. that rings a bell :-)
I must admit that, in the photos, your spacers do look superior. Well, I'll give what I've got a try and if the spacers I've got aren't adequate I'll get back to you.
thanks for the info Don |

| The reason mine were so expensive, was because I was paying a professional to do them. There was a development cost, and a per unit cost, which was added up and then divided by the number of units to be sold. I am very happy that Dennis is making these and can make them available to the community at a lower price. However, I still think you got your money's worth. | I guess it helps to be born with no gift of manufacturing skills. I know I don't have em, can't learn em. I was born with one skill and that is to recognize real genius when I see it. Anyone that can take a raw material and create a tool or device that fills the needs of a consumer is special. Shame on anyone that thinks something like this should be free. Just because someone is your brother or friend doesn't mean that he doesn't need to eat. Dan and Dennis and others that create these mods for us deserve a return on their talents and hard work. If I offered to send you a widget for $5.00 you paid too much. A talented individual offering a widget for $50.00 is maybe asking a fair price. We have an advantage here... we all have similar needs. We share experiences and believe me, if I pay someone $5 or $50 for a widget that isn't what is claimed, YOU ARE GONNA HEAR FROM ME. I have purchased many items after reading about them from Swingers on this forum. I have eliminated others for the same reason. Is this advertising? Maybe, but use common sense when buying from someone on this forum or anywhere else. Look at the folks that have purchased before you. Ask if you need to. Thank all you Dans and thank all you Dennises for your efforts to make riding my Swing more fun. Gary Now that Ed McMann has died, I tend to overdo this pitch thing. But I send this in a very serious mood. |

| MikeO, Dennis's GPS is a really good mount. I was mounting it on my handlebar but really like Dennis's mod much better. It just seems easier for me to read. | Hello DennisB Just found this forum today. Noticed the GPS mounting bracket. Looks alot like the one I made but mine didn't cost $5 altogether. How do the bevelled spacers keep from cracking the plastic handlebar cover? The bolt that comes in that hole is a shoulder bolt so it will hold tight without placing pressure on the plastic itself. You can see the ones that I made have the shoulder on them. |

| Well, I was going to send a picture of the one I made, but the site will not allow it so you will need to take my word, the spacer should have a shoulder not a bevel. |

| Hi Blue,
You really need to re-read this topic. No where do I say "bevelled" in this product discription. |

| The aluminum turned pieces I received with my DennisB mount had shoulders on them and were not beveled pieces. _________________ Dale Huntsville, AL

| In fairness, in a fleeting glance at the picture, they do look bevelled rather than square-cut but mine, too, have shoulders. As for the cost: those of us without either the skill or the tools to make such items buy from those who have. I've seen enough machining done to know that it takes time and time costs money. I don't know what labour charges are in the States but anything less than £50.00./$80.00 an hour is cheap, cheap, cheap! I'm grateful there are people like Dennis around with the ideas, the skill and generosity to help people like me. Thanks, Dennis. _________________ Mike - Riding on the right - riding for pleasure!

| I ordered the DennisB GPS mount since he originally announced it.
I have put a lot of miles on since I installed it ... I have no problems, plastic cracking or vibration. _________________ Bill - Georgetown TX 07 Silver Wing ABS Clearview w/vent, Givi E96/TB19/E52 with Admore Lighting, Alaskan Leather, Wrist Rests, 3M Solas tape, K&N air, Hyperpro spring, Grip Puppies, Airhawk, Utopia backrest, Stebel, Apexcone HIDs, StingerZ LEDs (w/Backoff WigWag), Knight Rider Sequential LED, NGK Iridium, Power Commander III, Manic Salamander, Saeng mirrors, Garmin Zumo 660, Dark-Side Sumitomo Tire |
