Bestine top box Empty
PostSubject: Bestine top box   Bestine top box I_icon_minitimeWed Feb 20, 2013 10:13 pm

3 years ago I bought a Bestine? top box for my S/W. at J.C Whitney
I had tried many different fixes to get rid of a rattling noise that would return after a short period of time. Padding underneath the box and tape around the posts on the mount which helped, so I knew I was on track.
Then I took a piece of 1/4 vacuum hose cut in 2 in long pieces and then cut length wise, and installed them on the box inside where the openings are that fit into the posts mounts.
The bike has never sounded more tight. alien beamed up

I have an Emgo box and my problem was small items rattling inside of the box when in motion. Bear in mind that these boxes sit behind the shocks so take a bit more movement!

Anyway, on mine I took a foam bath mat and cut a piece to cover inside bottom of my EMGO. Made a huge difference, absorbs most of the noise and vibration of small things bouncing around in there without cutting into the space available!!!
