| I was just on the other SWing site and someone was asking a question on how to clean the air filter. They didn't know what panels to remove or how to do it. I put a Pictorial on there years ago and this guy named "agwing" puts a link of the Pictorial I did with a comment of "searched the original Swing forum from 2004" so the guy could figure out how to do it.
Agwing is someone that doesn't like this site, or the people here, but he recommends my Pictorials to the people there. Kind of strange. _________________ Ride safe, JeffR 2007 Silver Wing (30,000 miles) 2005 Majesty 400 (sold 12,500 miles) 2004 Reflex (sold 3,500 miles) Givi Windshield, top case, vista cruise, power commander, dr pulley sliders, air hawk seat pad, (J. | Jeff, It looks like "agwing" is a member here also (Not the original forum, But the Best). His last visit was in Jan. 2, 2011 he has never posted anything on this forum. I'm glad your pictorials are still over there to help those folks. I just hope John does not start marching people off to concentration camps anytime soon. |

| JeffR, I (actually, we) just added air filter replacement to the growing list of maintenance procedures, along with oil/filter changes and final drive oil, for the Silver Wing. As noted on other pictorials, the air filter pictorial is spot on. My daughter (turning the socket and screwdriver) and I (reading the instructions and handling the larger removed parts) changed the air filter this evening.
At this point, the new air filter is a stock Honda item, but I might give the K&N a try next time around. Spending some time with my daughter, who wants to take the BRC early next year, was the best part of this project. We enjoyed the time spent working on the filter replacement together. Thank you for providing these pictorials; they are accurate and make the work much less mysterious for a novice Silver Wing maintainer. |

| Guys, I can see how the stock filters would be available at the Honda stealership and I see the K & N's available on ebay. But I was wondering if either or both were available at any auto parts store like Pep Boys or Auto Zone, NAPA, etc. They'd most likely be cheaper and have it in stock as I hate waiting and on occasion I've noticed some of them having motorcycle stuff. |

| K & N filters are available all over the place. You can also get the recharge kit with the cleaner and the recharging oil. I bought mine at a Bumper to Bumper auto parts store in the little town of Rison, Arkansas. |

I can attest that Rison, Arkansas is a little town. _________________ Bill - Georgetown TX 07 Silver Wing ABS Clearview w/vent, Givi E96/TB19/E52 with Admore Lighting, Alaskan Leather, Wrist Rests, 3M Solas tape, K&N air, Hyperpro spring, Grip Puppies, Airhawk, Utopia backrest, Stebel, Apexcone HIDs, StingerZ LEDs (w/Backoff WigWag), Knight Rider Sequential LED, NGK Iridium, Power Commander III, Manic Salamander, Saeng mirrors, Garmin Zumo 660, Dark-Side Sumitomo Tire |

| While you do need a filter oil, any good cleaner can be used such as Simple Green. |
