PostSubject: Conchos, seatcovers and other accessories   Mon May 25, 2009 7:56 am

Just want to pass along a site/company called Iron Braid (www.ironbraid.com) for those of you into leather "bling" for your bike.

I've had the peel-and-stick conchos on my '04 Burgman for 4-5 years now and they're still there, despite being out in all kinds of weather (and never garage-kept) and still look good. (I think they use 3M peel-and-stick technology.) The company was very easy to deal with and clearly the products do as advertised I have the conchos on the sides of my driver's seat. My bike, Sushi, can't decide whether she's an old-fashioned cruiser or a post-modern scoot. Smile

Iron Braid also sells leather key chains, gloves, and other braided accessories. If I wind up getting the '08 Swing I have my eye on, I'll probably get blue and turquoise conchos for the seats.

I also can recommend Alaska Leather sheepskin seat covers. They do add warm in cooler weather but prevent the dreaded wet butt syndrome of riding in the summer on a plastic seat. (www.alaskaleather.com)

Ride safe,

Bry

Bry,

Thanks for posting the link to Iron Braid. They have some interesting products. Not my cup of tea, but now that I know of them I may be able to pass the info along to someone else. And who knows my sense of fashion and style may change (evolve?) as I mature!

I understand. I've gone back and forth with it. I think in a previous life, I must have owned an old Indian 'cause I love the cruiser look. Have you seen the Ridley cycles (automatics)? They're got some nice old-school bikes.

But then the Swing also looks a bit like a sports bike or sport-touring BMW from some angles, hence my dueling ideas.

Ride safe,
Bry

Thanks for turning me on to this website. I did not buy any of the dangly stuff but did spend another $50.00 On my helmet on the other site.
And I didn't feel so bad spending the money when I saw the temp in Alaska. 17deg today. I love Ca. more and more. At least untill the big one comes.
