I had the S'Wing in for a service this week and I noticed that my dealer was an agent for Leo Vince exhausts. I quite like the sound the 8552 produces and there is quite a weight saving. I made an enquiry about the price which wasn't the worst I've had and was told ' we fit for free and that includes re-setting the ECU'. I've always assumed that it was a straight swap and that I could return to standard if necessary but this bit of news has made me stay my wallet hand. Can anyone else shed any light on this ? The L-V keeps the oxy sensor so do I really have to have the electronics tinkered with ?

No.
The ECU cannot be reset regardless. The only way to alter the fuel map is with something along the lines of a Power Commander.
The Lambda sensor will adjust for any change in the AF ratio caused by the reduction in back pressure form the LV muffler. Just make sure your throttle valves are synched.

It may be to adjust the fuel mixture. If that is true another option would be the Dynojet Power Commander instead of modifying the ECU.

Leo Vince well made-----makes rear wheel easier removal as there isn't the carbon "packing" to monkey with or replace. As Recall I have purchased them for at least 2 of my scooters.

Gain is reduced weight----more NOISE, probably no real performance gain.

Their instructions say "computer/fuel injection resets by disconnecting battery and re-connect."

AND...if they were quieter, real plus is no black painted muffler that.....if you ride in all weathers, gets pretty bad looking after a year or so. Also Leo Vince now has removable end cap that brings noise down.------Now if they only sounded like old Brit Bike 350 or 500 singles, that would be great.

There is a significant performance Gain.
It was tested on dynojet stock vs leo Vince on MY bike.
around 5 hp gain according to specs.
Adding the jCosta Variator smoothed out the performance across the board, as did adding the dynojet.
These three together (with the dynojet custom mapped) are the best bolt on performance gains you can get for this bike without upping the cc or adding a turbo.
All together I got about 7 hp, and much better use of it throughout the range.
