Auxiliary Front Lights - Advice Wanted

Hi All,

Now that I have the rear of the scooter lighted up nicely, I want to shift my focus on the front lights.

Curious on what folks have done to add more lighting to the front.

I see Dennis offers a bracket, would like to know how this is attached.

Ideally, I would like to use LED's. Hallogens get too hot, draw too much watts and burn out.

I have a set of Vision-X solstice solos, 10 watts each. They're the same as the Denali lights sold on Twisted Throttle. I haven't yet mounted them on the Swing but a few of my buddies use the Denalis and they make you VERY conspicuous during the day and light up the road pretty well at night.

honda_silver, how would you mount these lights?

I have a "Dennis" mount on the front of my 2005. Equipped with "Burners" from Wal-Mart. They really work nice and light up the road. These are the
silver ones and sell for about $20. I recommend them. If you see my pictures posted on this Forum you will see them. I really put them on for visibility from on-coming traffic. They can see me coming now!

How much was the "Dennis" mount?

I assume it attaches to the front 2 screws?

I would like to see detailed picture on how it attaches.

You need to try and do a little work yourself. We have a "SEARCH" button, I suggest you learn to use it from this point on.

For those of you that do not know my product line...I try very hard to make it as easy as possible for the Silverwing owners to install my products. As for the light bar I supply the light bar, new screws, stand-off spacers for bikes 2002-2007, 2 pieces of black wiring covering each 6" long, and a small switch. As far as customer support, I provide illustrated installation instructions with all my products and other support in the form of schematic diagrams and online help.

I just installed an Admore mini using Dennis B's excellent perfect connector and also his front bar which I mounted and then installed a set of Denali D2 driving lights.

The Denali harness is substantial and came with a series of male female connectors which were too big to route through the frame so I went nearby and under the floorboards to the frame exit and up through the rabbit hole and through the briar patch to Dennis's perfect wiring connector.

The denali's can connect either low high beam or high only.
The low high required a posi-tap to the high beam and looking at my manual wiring diagram with my specs and magnifying glass I was hoping to find an easy to posi-tap location which I thought about doing at the convenient to remove and replace headlight bulb location (anyone find your hand size doesn't fit the opening and mine aren't large (hands I mean) but I digress)

I thought I could connect at the handlebar switch or the wiring to the easy access headlight but felt there was no way I was going to make a tight fit ...tighter...although right about then getting tight seemed the way to go

Anyway as I already had all the left side, battery, Givi adjustable and misc other bits scattered around my shed I
had a bright idea.................why not just pass go and hook up the high only..............its so much easie...cleaner that way.

So I did and now I have low beam ...high beam...and flak tower search lights...........so the purpose of this diatribe
is ...............has anyone installed highs only? And if so how does oncoming traffic feel about it?

They are bright but that was at night and looking at my Swing in the shed she is at a higher elev than on road and since almost all of my driving is in day light I figured ....they are operational now so if Rudolph gets sick......I'm your man Santa.

Plus people can;t say I'm not too bright anymore

I have a pair of this type. Mine has a dimmer (remote controlled) so you have daylight running lights (low) and very bright lights for night (high). There are about eight steps for the brightness.

I have a pair of Model 30 LED lights mounted similar to the way Dennis designed the mount on a Silverwing. The lights use less than 10 watts each, but put out over 1500 lumens.

ADVMonster.com sells brighter lights, but those are in a flood light pattern, not a spot light pattern. I think they would be difficult to use in traffic.

I wired my LED lights up with a relay and independent of the lighting system so I wouldn't overtax the headlight circuit.

So you could say I have a Low, High and whenever I want it, a driving light too.

If you connect them to the High beam system, so they only come on with the high beams, then I'd think you'd be blinding the on coming traffic even if they don't flash their headlights at you.

If you want to check how bright your lights are, go around a bend in the road with a police car coming the other way. If he makes his own red and blue light show immediately after, you'll know your lights are blinding.

I tied mine into Dennis's switched power and located my Denali on off switch thru the vent in the dash so I have low, high and high Denali ...but i admit it.

They are bright though .............less so in daylight.................would like to hear if anyone has the D2 Denali on high only and the cage reactions on a two-way, street I mean.
