| And how have you gotten away with a single tire change in 21K miles? I really need to know! |

| papajohns, I don't think you would need the valve adjustment unless you have experienced a decrease in mpg's or it running differently. Maybe just have them check them instead of adjusting them. I hear it is about a $400 job but not really sure. I change my belt now at about 16,000 miles, except for the first time when I changed to the Kevlar belt, since I would hate for it to break and get me in a bind. Has anyone on this site adjusted your valves yet? And did you notice a performance difference before and after? _________________ Ride safe, JeffR 2007 Silver Wing (30,000 miles) 2005 Majesty 400 (sold 12,500 miles) 2004 Reflex (sold 3,500 miles) Givi Windshield, top case, vista cruise, power commander, dr pulley sliders, air hawk seat pad, (J. | The only problem I've had is managing enough riding time, and I can't blame the scoot for that. Craig |

| 2009 SWing, 8,800 miles of strictly in city driving. The bike was purchased in Feb 2010 new and sat untouched for 11 months due to family problems. I average 51 mpg.
The only issues/complaints I've had with my SWing are as follows:
1. The clip the holds the mechanism for the fuel filler door latch repeatedly fell off until I took it back to the dealer where they replaced it free of charge. The bike was well out of warranty when they did so.
2. The mechanism that unlocks the seat latch is "barbaric" at best. My 400 Burg was far superior in this respect. I traded the burg on the SWing.
3. A small bar crosses the fuel filler neck and when pumping fuel if you hit it just right it will spray back fuel. Poor design.
4. I've had one flat rear tire (tyre) and made the mistake of taking it to the local Honda dealership. Next time I will be doing the "dark side". I've already lined up a local shop that will gladly do it and he's a fraction of the price of the dealer.
Other than what I listed this scoot has been very reliable and easy to maintain. The only mod I'm considering other than the tire (tyre) is a Cee Baily dark tint windshield. At $85 it's a lot cheaper than some I've priced online. |

| Hello all !
I just fell victim to the nefarious interior light problem.
Got back late Thursday after a 75 mile ride , put the Wing in the garage and must not have closed the seat completely. Voila, Dead battery ! You would not think the light would drain the battery that fast ! I should have heeded the comments in the forum about this and removed the bulb. Oh well , it's on the charger now and I just have to wait |

I disagree about poor design. The bar is there to protect the sensitive pump and float mechanism, as well as prevent easy siphoning of gasoline. Would you rather have to replace that expensive part, or just be more careful when filling up? Honda engineers are way more clever than most owners, myself included. |

I read somewhere that there is a reason for this. I think it had something to do with how far they wanted us to be able to put the gas pump down into the tank...or..I even remember that someone said that this was supposed to be where the level of gas should be in the tank, at its highest.
I just fill mine all the way up as far as I can. I did like the tank better on my Majesty since I could stick the pump all the way down into the tank and fill it up. You get used to it after awhile and I think the Reflex was the same too. I didn't have it for too long but it seemed very similar to the SWing. _________________ Ride Safe,

| A far better design would have been to use the new Ford filler neck. I have a 2010 Ford Fusion and it has no gas cap, simply open the door and place the fuel nozzle directly into the neck, it prevents siphoning, it won't allow you to press the nozzle any further than necessary and more importantly it won't blow back fuel to be wasted. If you're not watching when you top off the tank it will splash all over the place. Gasoline is a terrible thing to waste at $3.79 / Gallon! |

| Yeah, I do sometimes get that splash back but it isn't too much. I just don't like my hand smelling like gas since it seems so hard to get rid of the smell.
I've always wondered what the perfect bike would be like. I would like a bit larger tires even if it reduced the trunk space a bit, or some kind of overdrive when on the highway to bring down the rpms. But so far I'm very happy with the SWing and can live with a few of these small things. _________________ Ride Safe,

The insurance company rented me a fusion when my truck got t-boned. I liked it very much, it took me a second or 2 figure out the no gas cap thing, turns out the filler nozzle has to touch both "pieces" before it releases, very ingenious i hope its a passive system, not an active one! I would have one though, but i opted for a C-RV. |

| Petrol is that high in the UK now? At that price every drop is precious. |
