PostSubject: What a great lunch   Sun Jan 01, 2012 3:16 pm

Hi All,

Well I drove home on Saturday from Padre Island (560 miles) and stopped for lunch a the Golden Coral. As I was sitting eating my lunch I noticed an older gentleman getting his food and then sat down in the same section I was in. What sparked my attention was the baseball hat the guy had on. It was a hat with the WW2 submarine, The USS Batfish. I introduced myself and asked him if he served on the Batfish and he said yes. His name is John C. Bohreer, and he is 91 years young. He told me some great, war stories as I had my desert at his table. He served as Helmsmen aboard that sub.

This was quite an honor for me to meet this man. There just is not too many of these great men around anymore.

What a great person to meet.

Here is some information about the USS Batfish.
