PostSubject: Frank Thomas Aqua Pore Jacket/Pants - Any Good?   Sat Dec 31, 2011 12:29 pm

Someone near me (California) has a Frank Thomas "Aqua Pore" jacket/pants set for sale and I am trying to gauge my interest in purchasing them. I did a bit of an internet search and it seems from what I could find that Frank Thomas is a UK firm without much presence (if any) in USA. Can anyone comment on the quality of these products and the retail (USA) price when they were purchased (about 4 years ago)? What types of weather are they good for? Is the armor any good (one forum site I visited stated the armor although CE approved was very lightweight and should be replaced)? Did Frank Thomas participate in the USA market years ago and decide to withdraw? Here is a link to the Frank Thomas site: http://www.frank-thomas.co.uk/about-us/
Thanks.

IIRC Frank Thomas was part of a group of companies (including Motrax) that went into liquidation earlier this year (2011).

Pillion person and me both have Richa Rix 2 jackets and Monsoon trousers - good quality gear. Not cheap, but good. Removable waterproof liners, removable thermal liners, good CE armour. Effectively three jackets/trousers in ones.

Just my 10c's worth! Smile

I have 2 pairs of Frank Thomas Aqua Pore pants & 1 jacket.

Have had them for 10 years & am very happy with them. Bought them in Canada.
