| Well gang, there is nothing going on around the house this year so I have decided to take a camping (tent) trip to South Texas over Christmas holiday. The plant, where I work, will be shut down for 11 days...so.
This trip will be done in my 2001 Ford Sport Trac, so I'll be taking along just about any and all the camping gear I need for just over a week of camping along the coast.
Going to try out my new metal detector to see if I can find anything of value that might have washed up on the waves.
Any one know of some good camping sights along the South Texas coast line?
Weather looks good upper 60's to 70's in the day time to mid 40's at night.
It's going to be good to get away for a while. |

| Hey Dennis, I always liked the area around Corpus Christi, Mustang Island, and Padre Island, I haven't been there in years, but you can check it out. At that time there was everything from an aircraft carrier to replicas of Columbus' ships on display. Mustang Island had a state park and you could camp on the beach. If you go through Waco on I-35, I would reccomend a visit to the Texas ranger museum. They had some very interesting displays. I hope you have a great trip. |

| I like the Port Lavaca area. Try Powder Horn Lake RV at Indianola. Or, there is free camping on Magnolia Beach. No facilities, but the view and price are great. |

| Hi Bill, I was thinking of stopping at your place the first night out...If you don't mined an overnight guest? Then leave out your place the next morning for the very southern point of Texas. This is going to be a great trip. Texas is really a Great and beautiful state. I'll PM my departure information to you when plans get a little more firmed up. Dennis |

| I just got back from south Texas on a 6,000 mile motorcycle ride. The weather sucked. I ate some fine food at Dirty Als, a sea food Bonata on Padrie Island.... |
