I do agree a change is as good as a rest but this is evolving away from what I believe the site to be. It is becoming more general than specific.

Sorry if the creators of the new image disagree but I feel it will attract more members but of a more general nature and therefore less informative. If I wanted a general 'Scooter' site I would go to one, it is seriously nice to be part of a forum that is dedicated to Honda's Silver Wing 600.

As an aside I do agree with the size of the top of the page picture - way too big!!

I have to agree with "Waspie" and "bigbird" in that adding other scooter types dilutes the content of this site. Let's keep it SilverWing 600 and let the other folks start theirs and worry about their own future. I haven't perused all the detailed changes but overall it does look a little cleaner.

'Esquire' is a person who owns their own property. Usually used for someone who has neither a different title (Lord, Sir, etc) or doesn't have other letters behing their name. For instance I have 'B.A. (Hons) that I could put behind mine. I also own my property outright so people can use 'Esq.' Not used very much nowadays.
When writing to someone in the States I put 'Col.' behind their name, this shows they are a 'colonial'. Wink

Too much chest thumping for me. But thanks for the lineage of Esq.
I'll just stick with Bigbird.

I'm still not sure whether the Integra will appeal to bikers or scooter riders, and bikers have never got what the Silver Wing and maxi scooters are about. If the Integra goes down the same road to obscurity as the Honda DN-01, there won't be any need for a separate section for it. Neutral

That could be a function of someone pasting a very long internet link. Or it could be you have the sort of fingers that really screws with the PC you try to use.

After giving all the 'posts' another looky-see, I also wonder if maybe a vote on existing changes might not be a bad idea; or maybe even a selection table like Kurt put up for his wasp stings Smile

(hope you're better now, Kurt). If for no other reason than to serve as a guage to use on any decisions you may or may not want to make.

From what I've seen on here in the past weeks, Honda-Silver is running a very autocratic forum.
When do we vote?
If the results support these new changes, of which I am getting more and more frustrated every day, then I'll shut up.
I still say it takes way too long to dig down through the layers to access a topic of interest. And does anyone here really care about scooters other than the Silverwing? I thought that's the focus of this forum.
As said before, every scooter has its own dedicated, specialized forum on the 'net. One size does NOT fit all here.

2c time. When JeffR asked for someone to take over the forum, how many stepped up? When HondaSilver said there would be changes, how many stepped up? It's so easy to throw stones rather than using the stones to build. I like the cleaner look. I am not qualified to run the site, so I am not ready to stage a coup. Be careful what you wish for, you might get it. I don't think Bill or the moderators are taking these comments as anything but constructive criticism. It was stated when the changes were started that there would be adjustments. Just some random opinions and not worth 2 cents. motorcycle

Look, this is not a whine about leadership it about the look of our beloved site. A few of us don't like it - that doesn't mean a rebellion.

My line is simple. This started as a excellent Honda Silver Wing 600 Forum.

I would simply like it to remain focused solely on the Silver Wing 600. End of story for me.

JeffR, Bill and the rest of the Mods to an excellent job. I see the change to add other models a retrograde step backwards - but their decision.

No more talk of 'coups' or otherwise. If you don't like the site - set your own up.

I likely will, in a couple of months, in time for the Spring riding season. A couple of us on here have already bandied about the idea.
There would be more of a bias towards the technical, mechanical, and modification side than the "touchy-feely" side.
There would also be no tippy-toeing as if young children would be reading any of the postings. That's not to say it would be a wide open non-censured environment. We don't envision that, but a more thick skinned attitude would be tolerated.
