| Hopefully around the weekend of Dec 17th, we will be changing the categories hierarchy to display only the first level. To see the forums, you will click on specific category.
The number of top categories will be shortened by moving under a category and some new categories will be created ... for example "Integra" and "SWT400/SWT600".
We may make the changes over several days ... so we can check and test the look an feel.
This thread can be used to discuss any questions. _________________ Bill - Georgetown TX 07 Silver Wing ABS Clearview w/vent, Givi E96/TB19/E52 with Admore Lighting, Alaskan Leather, Wrist Rests, 3M Solas tape, K&N air, Hyperpro spring, Grip Puppies, Airhawk, Utopia backrest, Stebel, Apexcone HIDs, StingerZ LEDs (w/Backoff WigWag), Knight Rider Sequential LED, NGK Iridium, Power Commander III, Manic Salamander, Saeng mirrors, Garmin Zumo 660, Dark-Side Sumitomo Tire |

| Change is good. Change is good. If I keep repeating it, maybe I'll believe it. I do know that you want the best for the forum, so I will keep an open mind to any changes. Thank you and the moderators for all the work you do. |

| I'll also reserve judgement until I see the result, but I have stated many times that the layout and operation of this forum is the best of any forum I have ever seen. If we are changing it to look more like most forums, that will be a big negative for me. The 'Latest topics' for example, is one of the best features and I use it all the time. I guess I also have to wonder why we are doing this? |

I'd like to know the rationale behind this change. Complaints from forum members? I agree with the others. The current format is just fine. What's to be gained for the members from this change?

Latest topics will remain unchanged.
Click the "Forum" button Under the "Forum" section there are 23 possible selections
Under the "Forum" section there is a title "Main Silver Wing Chat Section", click the title "Main Silver Wing Chat Section". If you recount there are only 5 possible selections ... this is what is changing.
The number of selection at the top level will be greatly reduced ... allowing navigation (if you do not use Latest topics) to key sections. Then some new top sections will be created
1) Integra 2) SWT* ... or SWT400/SWT600

| I'll go first. I don't like this new format. It's too hard to navigate through layers of subjects now. And why wouldn't you put the headings in some logical order? Kurt's Korner before General Chat? I know I have zero influence on the admin here, but I think this is a step backwards. Do we get to vote, or is this a heavy-handed admin's decision only? |

You can either
multi-click navigate to the subsection(s)
-OR-
"one click" directly to the subsection from the main home page.
your choice.
The only section that is two clicks away is Riding -> Regional
So we can add more regional sections.
| bigbird wrote: | | And why wouldn't you put the headings in some logical order? |
If you click any section, you will find there are in number of posts in reverse order. Therefore the highest utilized are at the top._________________ Bill - Georgetown TX 07 Silver Wing ABS Clearview w/vent, Givi E96/TB19/E52 with Admore Lighting, Alaskan Leather, Wrist Rests, 3M Solas tape, K&N air, Hyperpro spring, Grip Puppies, Airhawk, Utopia backrest, Stebel, Apexcone HIDs, StingerZ LEDs (w/Backoff WigWag), Knight Rider Sequential LED, NGK Iridium, Power Commander III, Manic Salamander, Saeng mirrors, Garmin Zumo 660, Dark-Side Sumitomo Tire

The SilverWing600 forum was organized purely for the Silver Wing.
Some regions offer other Honda scooter models (and maybe our future) - SWT400 / SWT600 - Integra
If Honda discontinues the Honda Silver OR if forum members choose a different Honda scooter model other than the Silver Wing.
Reorganizing the forum, allows these other Honda scooters and their members to freely share the same as we do for the Silver Wing.
We will all benefit from their knowledge or information.

News to me that this forum was looking into other models of Honda scooters. When can we expect an SH150i section? How about a Ruckus section? Maybe even a Metropolitan (Jazz) section? I'm sure I can benefit from a Ruckus section. There aren't already enough Ruckus nonsense forums with their asinine following out there. Whatever. I'll live with it. I'm done bitching. When do we vote? |

I have a question. Who is "we"?
Or should this read "I" instead of "we"?
Does anyone else care besides a couple of "us"?
Do "we" get any input?
I thought this forum was all about "us".

| Why do you feel the need for change? There's only a couple of members on here that have the SW-T 600, and they hardly ever post. I don't think anyone has a SW-T 400 and that's been available in Europe since 2009. At present neither model is available to riders in the USA, Canada, or the UK and won't be in 2012 as far as we know.
As for the Honda Integra is it a scooter, or an automatic motorcycle like the Aprilia Mana 850? If it sells some one will start a forum solely for the Integra anyway. |

| My input.
The Forum is the SilverWing600. So why digress into other fields. I came here because it was a site specifically for the Honda Silver Wing why digress from what we have always commented upon the site winning formulae.
I do agree a change is as good as a rest but this is evolving away from what I believe the site to be. It is becoming more general than specific.
Sorry if the creators of the new image disagree but I feel it will attract more members but of a more general nature and therefore less informative. If I wanted a general 'Scooter' site I would go to one, it is seriously nice to be part of a forum that is dedicated to Honda's Silver Wing 600.
As an aside I do agree with the size of the top of the page picture - way too big!! |

| Must be the meds ... I had noticed that the categories had been reduced in number and the shortened list was cleaner than before. And I haven't had a problem navigating around the topics yet. May be because I don't spend all day on here. I guess I am in with the group that is waiting to see problems that show up.
Change for change sake is not a good thing. But doing something because "we have always done it this way" is not a good thing either. I am not running for "Chief Administrator" of this forum. I enjoy being an "indian" and will go along with what ever is put up. The history of this forum has been very friendly and that doesn't JUST HAPPEN. Someone has to go along with things they may not agree with sometime. Kinda like a real family does. |

| Wow... big bird used the "N" word... I guess my little Deb is a Nazi when she asks me to take out the trash and all the other things she asks me to do. I always suspected she grew that mustache for a reason. Hard for me to compare getting along with "family" and being asked to walk into a gas chamber... bad example. not even close to "kinda like" the same thing. No one is going to die here. Lemming or no... |

| If you rate this or any other forum right up there with the importance of your real family, then I feel sorry for you. Unless you've actually had face to face or over the phone social interaction with any of these people, you can hardly classify them as family. I know of one particular member here, living in the US, who comes across as a decent guy on the computer screen. It seems one wouldn't mind sharing some beers with him. A trusted and real friend of mine met him in the US when on vacation. He was described to me as an egocentric dirty stinking slob. All this guy could do was talk about Silverwings and nothing else. My friend couldn't get away from him fast enough. My Silverwing and this forum is nothing more than a hobby and distraction for me. I would certainly like to meet most of the forum members on here. A handful of others I wouldn't give you $.02 for. As for doing what you're told, no thanks. My real family, of course. This Silverwing600 pseudo family? Not so much.

| Thanks for the sympathy. I have met face to face with 9 or 10 forum members, spoke on the phone to 5 others and have had enough PMs with another half dozen. ALL of them are nice people. NONE of them agree with every thing I say or think (thank goodness for that). None of them would I consider as less of a friend because they want to do things differently than me. Certainly no Nazis in my circle of friends or family.
Heck, I don't even think you are an egocentric dirty stinking slob just because one of my friends calls you one. I make up my own mind about the people I hang out with. That goes for real family or this "distraction". I am not going to keep this going any farther. We both have had our say as far as I am concerned.
I do sincerely wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and pray for a good year in 2012. |

And I as well.
My question is, are you concerned about next year's winter solstice, Dec.21/2012, at all?
I hope old man Nostradamus was high on something when he drew his futuristic visions, and that he wasn't influenced about the future by aliens who already knew the outcome.
Regardless, enjoy life to the max and good health to you and yours, Gary.

On our side of the pond Mitsubishi isn't held in the highest of esteem. Their reputation here is based on rust, expensive repairs, poor dealer network, and poor resale value. Honda is top dog over here, with Toyota nipping at its heels.
I almost forgot. When do we vote on the forum remake? |
