Today is Armistice Day, the official end of World War I. It was changed to Veterans Day in the United States by president Truman. Take a few moments and remember why we fought "The war to end all wars" and pray that we never have to again.

As a veteran, I say "thank you." As a private citizen, I say "THANKS, Y'ALL!!!" Just wish we could downsize the need for this industry.

Two minutes were respectfully taken to remember and reflect on days gone by and the many faces who are not with us to share the sun wind and rain.

Was wearing my Patriot Guard vest with the patches and my ship's baseball hat at a Vets Day parade this morning and had a Girl Scout come up and thank me for my service and give me a card wishing same signed by all the girls in her troop.

Thanked her profusely. Got a lump in my throat and had to hurry away before she saw an old fart with tears running down his cheeks. Was not a combat vet, but served in the cold war...first time someone recognized my service.

May this be a blessed day for all veterans everywhere and thanks to all for their service in protecting this country and its freedoms.

Bob out...

Who says "there ain't no free lunch." I enjoyed one today at Golden Corral. Every year they have a free appreciation dinner for all veterans. The only problem is all those young boys who marched off to serve have turned into a bunch of old men . Smile It's nice to see a large corporation show their appreciation.
