| So I moved from Northridge California in 1994 to Tulsa Oklahoma to get away from eartquakes. Darn...I think they followed me here. The night before we had a 4.8 this night we had a 5.6 quake. Yes, they seem to be getting stronger each night. I was on ground zero for the event in 1994 and I got out alive. here are some pictures: https://www.google.com/search?q=Northridge+earthquake&hl=en&biw=1280&bih=571&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=z4W2TsHPMY3DsQKUsNHjAw&sqi=2&ved=0CD0QsAQ If this keeps up, we will have a 6.4 tonight and a 7.2 the following night. That would be bad...But I'm no future event teller. Just maybe I will find me and the rest of my house on a newly formed ocean front or maybe under an ocean... Or 14K in the air. Sometimes the earth moves very fast when it makes changes to our world. Last night I was thrown around a little. I think the scarest part is the ground rumble. It was a very low, scarry rumble in the dark, that took a while to go away. Dam, I hate earth quakes!!!! |

| Being woke out of a solid sleep and being tossed around (in to the air) is bad...but what I think is the very worst part is being in the dark, listing to that low rumble in the ground. You just pray to GOD it goes away. If it gets loader you need to try to make it to a door frame or any safe place and hang on. Durning a bad quake you can't walk. Crawling is the only way you can get to a safe place to wait it out and hope your home does not fall on you...and this is all in the dark. |

| Gee Dennis,
Now you have the worst of both worlds - earthquakes and twisters - one to shake you apart and the other to blow you away. Anyway, glad to hear you made it through without injury.
Also, glad we caught up at the STO - was fun to talk during the downpour.

| I can't even imagine what living around a 'quake' zone must be like never mind being present when it occurs.
This planet of ours is definitely sending a message that it isn't too happy these days.
Glad your ok Dennis, Where I live, it is solid limestone and way - way distant from any past volcanic activity and plates. I'd like to think I'm fairly safe but who knows in these changing times in the earths evolution.
Stay safe. |
