PostSubject: 2012 SilverWing   Fri Oct 28, 2011 7:44 am

Has anyone seen info if the SilverWing will be in Honda USA program for 2012??

I want to buy another 2012 model year might be better, but if 2011 is last, I will try to work deal with local dealer before there are none.

Don't want anything to do with new fancy models that might come along. SilverWing remains fairly simple, even has none chip key!

Money goes down today---if 2012 is yellow. I have NT (new) right now and it is fine, probably much cheaper to own than scooter----no belt @16,000 miles, I have made the choice to look at valves at 30,000 miles when I change air filter. near 15,000 miles now....no trouble, great air management.....better tire mileage than scooter....of course tires cost more.....if you can believe this SilverWing rear wheel is easier to remove. NT costs twice as much to insure as SilverWing in my area!

I have already had 400 Burgman (fine approx $800 cheaper than SilverWing plus is Fehling makes saddlebag mounts that GIVI E21 TOP LOADING bags work. Had Yamaha TMAX---- ride a lot and very complicated maint., poor air management, but really fun. Also 5 250cc Honda Scooter----250 just fine with me....but nothing on this market in the proven Japanese brands. New Vespas, way over priced and from what I here expensive parts and dealers folding right and left.

Any info appreciated

I believe Honda does not announce their Honda Silverwing schedule ( till last/latest possible ) at end-of-year.

Just looked up Fehling.de-----they do now make saddlebag mounts for the SilverWing, that will now take GIVI E-21 bags. Last time I looked, there were none for SilverWing. German stuff has to have TUV or otherwise approval and usually won't fall off or wiggle too much.

Very interesting!

I think the strength is still good but the chrome on the Fehling's stuff is a bit dodgy now - I smeared Vaseline on all the joints to stop the rust on the set I had on my X9 and a friend had all his rechromed in the UK.
