| There must have been a moment (or several) in your life when you thought 'ah what the heck' and you made the bid or pulled out the credit card knowing it was a moment of madness.
Just wondering what strange things folks have ended up with.... and are you still happy with them.... or was/is it something you'd love to forget... or wish your partner would?
One of mine was a recent purchase on eBay of a second hand super kingsize waterbed.
I love it it, but my better half is finding it very difficult to sleep on... and so it may have to go.... if we want peace to return to our household!

| I'm a big fan of Morris Dancing and often thought I'd like to try it, but I can't dance, my job prevents me from having the obligatory beard, and while I'd love to wave the hankies and wear a bowler festooned with flowers or beer mats, I can't drink copious quantities of real ale without being reduced to a gibbering wreck, so sadly I can never be a Morris Dancer. |

| I bought a car, a 98 bmw 318ti with the rare open air roof, on ebay in a moment of weakness. I had to tell my wife that I 'accidentally' bought a car :-) Then came the plane ticket to go pick it up and drive it home. I kept the car for around 2 years before selling it to a friend (my pattern, continually changing cars) The best part was at the time my wife also had the same car (without the open air roof) so we matched. |

| There was a service from a Ranch in Nevada that falls into this category... Fortunately, the only thing I took home with me was a memory, a menu, and a credit card debt.

Well to be fair, the airfare was the least of my expenses, the menu was gourmet, and the room service was excellent.

| I'm a big fan of Morris Dancing and often thought I'd like to try it, but I can't dance
I used to Morris Dance and in truth most Morris Men can't dance! Such a pity it's so denegrated in England - it's very physical like any other form of dance and is steeped in genuine Tradition.
The craziest thing I've bought? Too numerous to mention but I'll give thought to which is the out-and-out winner chez moi. _________________ Mike - Riding on the right - riding for pleasure!

What? Besides my Swing? :-) Years ago when I was just being stupid, a 14.2ft sail boat. Should've invested the money instead...

| More daft than extravagant, I bought a solar shower on holiday in Turkey in the 80's, you filled it with water, left it in the sun, and then showered with the heated water. It wasn't expensive and I thought it would be very handy on dodgy East German camp sites. I never used it and it gathered dust in my garage, until I had a clear out earlier this year. Then there was the electronic European currency converter, the Tingley rubber over boots, SAENG wind wings, HALO helmet neck curtain, miscellaneous MZ bits, and all the other junk I've acquired. Stuff I thought would be useful at the time of buying, never used and now it's downgraded to that fine English word, clutter.
I get a lot of enjoyment out of wearing a quality wrist watch, and I've had quite a few over the last 40 years. Bell & Ross is the latest marque I'm into. |

I have always considered Morris dancing as something that yobs do. As it always leaves dents and stratches on the bonnet and roof. I'm surprised that you even admit publicly to such behaviour!
