I still can't believe, with the plethora of info available on this site, that members don't /can't use the SEARCh feature:

Interesting. On my Silverwing the oil filter is in front of the center stand. In fact, the whole motor is in front of the center stand.

Bit of patience with our new forum posters Bigbird, lets give our new members time to bed in. The member has only 2 posts to their credit at time of posting.

I do hope you don't transfer this written angst when riding when around new drivers/riders.

Welcome jdwils... did you find what you were looking for?
I looked for Troy TN because I had never been there. The slogan of your city is "NICE PEOPLE LIVE HERE" . Well, same here on this forum. Please feel free to ask away on any question you have about your scoot. There will be some one to answer what ever you ask about. Even bigbird will be helpful when you need him. He really knows a lot of stuff. We are just working on his presentation skills.

Rison is a lot more populated than Troy. We had 1,231 (2000 census) to your 1,210 in 2009. Laughing Razz

Welcome again, say hello to all the nice folks in Troy.

Sorry.
My wife says I do get impatient while driving the car. I try not to get road rage. I might swear a bit but I don't get offensive and cut people off or give them the finger. Nothing to be gained by that.
On our side of the pond incompetent drivers are generally older and drive Buicks. I avoid any Buick like the plague.

What's with the white cloth cap? Is it to keep the old folks warm, or does it have some kind of cultural/religious significance?

When the symptoms of senility invade the male of the species then a white cloth cap become the badge of office signifying the passage to slow progress on the UK highways!! Normally two thirds of the nominated speed being the norm. Sleep

I did a quick google search on UK drivers and white cloth caps and got nothing. Any chance of a picture or link on this so I can see what you're talking about?

Alright, now I'm laughing Doug.
Thanks for those links.
We have some of those older Volvo wagons around. They were typically driven by university professor types who knew way too much about Chaucer and Shakespeare and nothing about anything practical.
The cap we refer to strictly as a golf cap.
Things aren't that much different between the UK and Canada.

BB/Terry, so much is lost in the written word. It is so easy to lose a meaning even when we speak the same language.

Just wondering why someone who can't find the oil filter needs to find the oil filter? Not criticising, just wondering. Smile

Response withdrawn.
It was not a positive answer on my part.
Have you found the filter yet?
Can I be of any help?

I would have asked the same thing.
Perhaps if you can't find it, you are out of your league trying to change it?
But I didn't ask because I've had enough negative feedback here for 1 day.
I'll leave that to you, Yo.

Not everyone is a mechanical whiz and what may be an obvious thing to those in the know may not be so obvious to others.

We all have differing skill sets, if I want t know something I will ask, as stupid as it may be to others to me it may be beyond my limit of knowledge. Answering obvious questions will no doubt increase the know how of we less endowed.

I have to admit... well, I don't really HAVE to admit, but, I will do it anyway... I had never heard the word... "plethora". Here on the farm, we use a plethora of chicken poop chickendance for all our flowers and trees ... but I did look up the word study and it is used properly. I also found the following link that explained it very well to me... My Spanish did come in handy after all... Cool
