It was at the height of the Battle of the Bulge that a new replacement showed up to help fill the lines. He'd no sooner got there than they were surrounded. Supplies were low...

Replacement: "Sarge, I've looked everywhere and I can't find anyone to issue me a rifle! What'll I fight the Germans with?"

Sargeant (low on patience): "Here! Take this broom and when the Germans come point it at them and yell 'Bangity Bang Bang!' and that might at least keep their heads down."

Replacement (confused): "But I have no bayonet! What'll I do when they get close?"

The Sergeant yanks out a piece of straw from the broom and jams it into end of the broomstick.

Sergeant (vexed): "There! When they come just yell 'Stabbity Stab Stab!' and you'll be just fine."

So the replacement goes off to the lines and joins the fight. As he sees his first German he points his broom and yells "Bangity Bang Bang!" and to his surprise the German falls dead! This goes on for hours and he keeps yelling "Bangity Bang Bang!" and every German falls dead. Finally at the height of the battle the lines are about the be overrun. The replacement is swarmed with Germans but he's yelling "Bangity Bang Bang! Bangity Bang Bang! Stabbity Stab Stab! Stabbity Stab Stab!" at the top of his lungs as Germans lie in heaps about him. Then off in the distance he sees a lone German slowly approaching his position. The replacement aims his broom and once again yells "Bangity Bang Bang!" but nothing happens. He tries many more times again yelling "Bangity Bang Bang! Bangity Bang Bang! Bangity Bang Bang! Bangity Bang Bang!" but still nothing happens. The German now has reached his position and the replacement is yelling in desperation "Bangity Bang Bang! Bangity Bang Bang! Stabbity Stab Stab! Stabbity Stab Stab!" but he falls under the German's feet and is stomped to death as the German yells...








"Tankity Tank Tank! Tankity Tank Tank!"
