| I went on a 250km highway ride today, and the first thing I did on my return after cleaning the bugs off the windscreen was to reinstall the db Killer.
Cruising at a steady 110 km/hr the noise wasn't too bad. But any acceleration, from either a stop or at any speed, was annoying after awhile. It did have great bark to it while revving the engine under no load, and backing off the throttle resulted in a great crackling noise. But other than that, the performance gain was not worth the noise.
Is there a performance gain? Absolutely with the dB Killer out. When I did the second youtube video, I was accelerating hard up to 80 km/hr. The front end of the Swing felt very light. It wasn't pulling a wheelie, but it was close. All the DB Killer does is restrict the full muffler opening down by about 0.75" It is a 6" long bent pipe that just slides into the muffler opening.
So for the foreseeable future the dB Killer will remain in. |

| Does anyone know if the model 8552 is available in the states? Leovinceusa.com does not list it, and none of the dealers or shops I frequent can find a distributor who lists it. In fact, most have told me that their distributors are saying they can't get any Leo Vince stuff anymore. That sounds a bit odd to me -- does that mean I'd have to order from the manufacturer directly? That would be discouraging since, as noted above, the US website doesn't list it.
I'm not interested in the older "4Road" model they do list... |

| The 8552 isn't stocked in the USA, it's a special order item which LeoVince USA was happy to order for me. When I called them and placed the order, they were having a holiday sale and gave me a 15% discount and free shipping. But I have to wait a couple of months for it because the Italians, like most Europeans, take a lot of lengthy vacations. |

Can you be more specific. I can't help you unless you specifically describe the problem. |

| I just registered with no problem. My only suggestion is, because the site asks for the activation code immediately upon registering, is to tell the member on that activation page to check their email now. |

| Just received and installed my LeoVince 8552 muffler. Top-notch stainless parts, easy install took about an hour. Sounds awsome without the reducer plug, not too loud at all. Can't really tell about performance increase because the Swing ran so strong before installing this muffler. |

Did you drive it at steady high speeds on a highway or Interstate? I found the droning to be very annoying with the dB killer removed on the highway. I had to wear earplugs in addition to my Schuberth helmet. Around town it sounded great with the dB killer out, but not on the highway.
One other recommendation. Try a K & N air filter and drill out the air box. The increased exhaust flow will be complemented by less intake restriction, and it sounds even better with the intake honk on acceleration. |

| The muffler sounds loudest on acceleration, and smooths out at steady throttle, so I haven't found it to be too loud on the highway at all. I'm sure that's just a matter of personal preference.
I probably won't do a full "Stage 1" by messing with the air intake. I already have more than enough performance, I'm concerned about leaning out the fuel even though it's a closed loop system, and don't want to go the Power Commander route.
I just wanted more noise, and I got what I wanted. |

Not sure what year your Swing is, but if it's newer than '07 it will have an O2 sensor and will automatically adjust the fuel for the proper combustion. |

Thanks dude. I installed the LED lights in the top box. I got them from www.admorelighting.com who manufacture LED lights specifically for aftermarket top boxes. Givi does make their own lights for their top boxes, but they are incandescent and not LED's. They are not very bright and are not recommended by those "in the know". |
