| My LeoVince slip-on has been shipped and I should get it next Wednesday. That's 3 weeks sooner than promised.
Here's the info sheet on it:
http://www.leovince.com/en/catalog-honda/terminale_lv_one_omologato_evo_ii_passaggio_standard_sw_t_600_i_e_2011/14577
I'll be doing a youtube video on the before and after sound. I'll also add a K&N to complement the lower exhaust restriction. |

| BigBird, Any chance there is a dynotune (the makers of Power Commander) test center near you. A dyno comparison before and after would really quantify the results.

Hi Max. I bought mine out of www.bluestreakracing.ca in Canada. In the US any dealer stocking LeoVince products can order one for you. Yes, it uses the OEM pipe and headers. The slip-on also mounts exactly like the OEM muffler. That's the reason I didn't go with the whole 4Road exhaust system. The upswept 4Road exhaust would have interfered with my saddlebags. |

| OK, LeoVince 8552 slip-on installed, tested, and I'm very happy. I've posted some pics in my album, and in the next couple of days I'll complete the youtube video and post the link for it here.
Impressions:
1) It's LIGHT, way lighter than the stock muffler. 2) It is not overly loud, in fact at steady throttle openings at highway speed I can't tell the difference between it and the stocker. There is absolutely no highway droning. 3) Under heavy throttle application, it has a nice bit of bark to it. Nothing like an HD V-Twin with shotguns, thank goodness, but a bit of a bark nonetheless. It makes the engine sound more like an internal combustion engine, not a sewing machine. 4) On throttle let off, as when rolling to a stop, the stock muffler used to "pop" due to leanness as air was injected into the exhaust port from the PAIR valve. The LeoVince emits something between a "cackle" and "burble". 5) I'm extremely pleased with this mod. I have nothing negative to say about it. Construction of the muffler and parts is first rate, with excellent machining and welding of the stainless steel.
More to follow. |

| Thanks for the report. I am interested in this mod for mine (2009). Did it come drilled and tapped for O2 sensor for US model 600's?
Thanks Bob |

Yes it did. The O2 sensor routing with the new muffler is slightly different back to its 4 pin connector, as the sensor is now slightly farther away than before. For those with pre '08 Swings, LeoVince includes a stainless steel plug with gasket for the O2 bung, as it's not needed. |

Hi Bob. There is always a perceived performance increase with an increase in exhaust noise under acceleration. Is the Swing any faster? I really don't know, but it sure sounds like it has more guts. I'm using 28gr sliders. I'll be switching to 24gr sliders when Mike at BuggypartsNW gets his next shipment. As for the clutch, likely install it next riding season. I've done spending for this year. I had a Yosh on my Honda SH150i. It had a loud bark, but the droning at steady highway speed was way bad. |

| Thanks for the video. A nice tone without being loud. When I put the LV slips ons on my VFR, I too left in the db killer. I immediately notice the bike seemed to rev more freely and the weight loss made it more "flickable" in the twisties. Do you notice those affects or is it too early to tell? Not that I consider my SW "flickable" but I am a nut for weight reduction.
Thanks Bob |

Hi Bob. Between the 10+ lb loss of weight with the muffler change and the 10 lb loss by going to a Li-Fe battery that's a 20 lb difference. That's not a huge difference when we're dealing with 550 lbs + my 225 lbs. I ride 50% of the time 2up, so add another 120 lbs to that, and any muffler and/or battery change is insignificant. So no, I don't notice any difference. The muffler change makes my Swing sound more like a motorcycle. |

| One more thought. After riding tonight around town in 26C stop and go traffic for 25 km the thing I noticed most was how much cooler the LV runs than the stock muffler. After pulling in to my driveway, with the radiator fan going on and off intermittently, I could almost touch the muffler. Try that on a stock Swing muffler after a ride. Of course the reason is that there is no cat converter inside the LV. My saddlebags were much happier with no oven cooking below them on the right side. That alone is worth the muffler change for me. On the other hand, my wife was not too pleased. She likes the quiet stock muffler much better. She said the LV was too loud. Maybe because she's sitting further back she gets more noise. To me, it's not loud at all. The Yoshimura exhaust on my SH150i was way worse. It barked and droned annoyingly. I told her next time to wear earplugs. She wasn't too impressed with that. |

You should encourage Mrs bigbird to wear earplugs when on the scooter with you, it's part of ALGATT. |
