| Honda Hoot 2009 canceled
Posted: Dec 20, 2008 11:04 AM CST
KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- A major moneymaker for the Knoxville area has been put on hold. The 2009 Honda Hoot has been canceled.
Organizers say the cancellation was due to "economic uncertainty."
For 15 years, the event has been touted as one of the largest motorcycle rallies in North America.
In the past few years, the Honda Hoot has brought thousands of dollars in revenue to East Tennessee.
Organizers say they hope the Honda Hoot will be back for 2010. |

| Dennis,
I think I heard about there somewhere else too. That is too bad because it is such a large rally. Hopefully it will be back next year. Thanks for telling us so the people who was planning on going know now.

Honda stopped (not suspended) the Formula 1 and AMA Motorcross support.
I would be surprised if they did continue the Hoot (primarily sponsored by Honda).
Perhaps moving to other events where they are not the primary sponsor. |
