The first of my "Swing overhaul kit" arrived today.K & N oil and air filters and Hyperpro springs.

The air filter swap out was a 10 min job and sure did need doing. My Swing is old (2001) but only has 5000 miles on her, but the air filter was filthy.

Took about an hour to remove, empty, then rebuild the forks with the Hyperpro springs and put back in.

Next came the oil filter. Drained the old oil, cleaned the strainer (very clean when removed) refilled with semi-synthetic 10w-40. The old filter was a real pig to get off, I had to resort to a screwdriver punched through the filter to get it to turn.

While I was replacing the oil filter I found that the lower water hose that attaches near the filter was quite badly perished, so I've replaced it temporarily until I can get the correct part. Refilled the radiator with deionised water (I'll fill with de-ionised water and anti freeze when I get the correct hose)

Tomorrow I'll change the final drive oil and hopefully my new Givi screen and iridium plugs will be here.

Then all I'm waiting for is the DR pulley sliders and Hit clutch.

Just come back from a test run, what a HUGE difference the Hyperpro springs make. I pushed harder and harder into bends and she handled beautifully!!! Can't wait for the sliders and clutch to get here HURRY MIKE!!!
