| Hi,
I have a Silverwing 2008, I used it yesterday with no problem. I then tried to use it about 24 hours later and it will not start.
When I try to start it, the lights come on, the display comes on and then it tries to start.
I have only just had it serviced and MOT last week.
The side stand is up and the kill switch is set so it can start.
Any help would be great.
Thank you
Darren

| I'm thinken it might be the battery. You might need to have it tested. When they get old they will light the lights but no start-up amps. |

| Don't forget that you have to squeez the left brake lever really hard. That has been a problem for others at times. |

| Gary you could be right about the left brake lever. More than one time I have had friends try my Wing and they could not get it to start, and every time that what is turned out to be.??

| The alarm probably has an internal battery to prevent someone from cutting the battery cable and stealing. Do you have the alarm manual? |

| I don't know anything about Silver Wing alarms since mine doesn't have one.
Last week I was in the parking lot at Quizno's and a woman's Camry was going off like crazy and she was crying because she didn't know how to turn it off. I took her key, put it in the door and turned it and it disabled the alarm.
I'm sure you tried putting the key in the ignition and turning it to on, but that's my only idea. |

| I got my scooter from the dealer. Drove it 45 miles to home, stopped 20 miles from home for gas, and it would not start. It was the battery. The dealer popped a new one in and zoom, all my confidence came back. The lights came on with the old battery, so I was puzzled, but the new battery did the trick. Hope your problem is that simple. |

Hit it repeatedly with a 4 pound blacksmiths hammer. works like a charm.
BTW don't live next to me and leave your car alarm armed then go on vacation. Just sayin. |

| Hi All,
Thank you to everyone.
That night I got it back to the shop and left it outside the shop beeping and in the morning they confirmed it was a battery problem.
Battery replaced and getting in the morning.
Again thanks

| Today my boss accidentally left his Suzuki in "park" and it drained his battery such that it won't start. His bike lets you turn the key to a "P" position and keeps the brake light and other lights on even though you can take the key out.
We jumped it and let it run for about 15 minutes and it still didn't have enough juice to start. So we decided to let it sit and we'd jump it again when he decides to head home. Now it's raining buckets here and is supposed to for the rest of the day.
I'm not looking forward to jumping his battery in the rain this afternoon. I didn't ride today because I actually watch the weather forecast in the morning. |
