| im sure im just overly paranoid here but should the fan come on during a leisurely evening ride? 80 degrees out. The gauge says ok, but when i shut it off, the fan will be on if i turn the ignition on. Also, the right side swingarm pivot it hotter than hell. so is the exhaust can, but i assumed it contains a cat. It just seems that the bike gets really hot. Everything checks, fluids fine, no warning lamps, temp gauge at 1/2 way mark. |

| Tagg, I believe that is normal. Even though the engine is not "over heated" the temp does rise when the engine is shut off and air from scoot movement stops moving over the engine. The sensor will turn the fan on as a normal function. The only time I hear that is when I am stopped with the engine running and even as I am ready to get off but before turning the key off. If all other indicators you mention are reporting normal, don't worry. Right now, everything is going to seem "Hot as Hell". Hope to meet you at the STO rally. Bring your camera. You really should find a smaller one though. |

| Thought as much, just never experienced a blistering swing arm before. Gotta love the Ozarks summer! 90 degrees, and 97% humidity!
Cameras? Its what i do for a living! |

I kinda figured that out... hard to imagine you riding the Swing carrying that big guy on your shoulder. |

| My Swing cooling system does exactly the same thing. Not to worry. |

| Same here.
If you realy want a second check...
After a ride when engine has a good working temperature.... Put a temperature meter in the oil fill hole.
Mine is about 207 gr F. ( 97 Celsius)

| I have ridden mine in 110 degree weather here in Arizona, and it has never shown any sign of running hot or overheating. Temp guage always shows halfway once warmed up. The fan runs at stoplights, but as you point out, that happens even on 80 degree days. It does seem to get slightly better gas mileage in the hot weather. |

| Hey Tagg,
When are you going to move back to the Valley of the Sun, where it's hot and dry, instead of the hot and humid? Ride Safe...
