PostSubject: Instrument Panel   Mon May 09, 2011 3:38 pm

The display to the left of the bright dimmer display light on the instrument panel came on and stays on a bright yellow with the letter V displayed. I have checked the oil and it is showing full. I purchased my Silver Wing last year it is a 2004 with 16,000 miles on it. Any help?

I'm no expert on the SilverWing but that sounds like the change the drive belt warning light to me.
From what I have read, it is supposed to come on around the 16,000 mile mark.
It is possible to change the belt yourself and reset the light but I have not done that myself (yet) someone with more knowledge should be along shortly.

16,000 miles...Sure sounds like a light re-set and a belt examination and possible change out.

to turn off the V light you might turn off the ignition then press in on the two buttons on the dash turn on the key and hold the buttons for a few seconds. I remember doing something like that. I then drove it for a few thousand miles before taking it in for a belt replacement. The way I drive the belt lasts and lasts. The way you guys drive you might get it replaced (or do it yourself) sooner.
