| Kurt,
A dislocated shoulder, your out of the game for a while, old buddy. I had a dislocated right shoulder about 6 years ago. Had to learn to use my left hand to operate my computer mouse and type for three months. Just glad to hear your old noggin did not get hurt.
Get well soon.

| Hard luck!
Been through the 'dislocated shoulder' bit twice with Ed.
Do the exercises religiously - it really is worth it.
Glad you're not more seriously hurt. _________________ Mike - Riding on the right - riding for pleasure!

As I am in the midst of recovery from a shoulder surgery earlier this year -
Do the exercises, but more than with the religious zeal of most Americans or you will never be able to use the arm ever again.
Seriously follow the rehab directions and do the exercises.
Get well quickly - bikes are always fixable. |

| Kurt: What a bummer. But I'm glad that you weren't hurt worse. A dislocated shoulder is very painful and difficult to repair. You will likely experience some permanent loss of motion. Be sure to follow the advice of your medical professionals so the loss will be minimized. I dislocated mine skiing back in college and over the next 10 years it came out around 70 times. I finally got it fixed, but like I said, I have experienced a permanent reduction in the range of motion. |

| Sorry to here of your accident Kurt. Glad you weren't hurt more seriously. Like the others said bikes can be fixed and do your rehab religiously. My brother is still getting over his shoulder surgery from last September. He excercised for the first 3 or 4 months and then fell off the routine and it began to freeze up. He's doing better now. Hang in there Kurt. At least you have all these great people on this forum to pass the time while you recover. |

| Wow Kurt, that does suck.
Like everyone has said previously, do the physical therapy. I've dislocated both shoulders, the right one (dominant side of course) more than once. After the initial inflammation is gone, consider massage therapy in addition to the PT. A massage therapist helped me so much with my range of motion that I went to school and became one.
Gentle yoga helps too. |

| Sorry to hear. Cliche' about accidents happening close to home?
Must be something in the air. TWO guys I commute with went down Monday. I forgot to check the callender, perhaps "Distracted Car Driver Season" started early this year.
Hope you heal quickly. |

| Let me add my note to the list of well wishers. Do the rehab, come home and add to Kurts Korner. May not help you, but the rest of us will feel better. Be sure to hire a pretty nurse/typist while you are recovering. Seriously, I am glad you are not hurt worse than you are. Stay cool, Gary |
