| I like having Oxford heated wrap arounds on my bikes and will be fitting the wiring next week on the Swing, time permitting. The accessory socket fitted by Honda is a piddling 1amp thing, fit only for a phone charger or a GPS so I need "MORE POWER"
I assumed that I would need to bring a decent supply in from the battery, then I read on another forum that the Swing already has a connection in the loom for grips!! Yee hah!
But where is it?? I have scoured the web looking for a pointer, but with no joy so far. Can anyone help me please? |

| Hi Steve, How many amps does the grips (combined) draw? |

As I recall, about 2.5amps, obviously a bit more load if I have a GPS attached too The socket on the Swing is 1amp, a bit pathetic really... |

I had seen your post Dennis, but I thought that your comment about low power suggested it was going to be only a 1-2 amp take off, similiar to that in the glove box.. When I saw mention of a tap into the loom for grips, I assumed that would have a 4-5amp load potential.
I may well be wrong though, what power do the honda grips want I wonder? |

| Hi Steve, Will you have your grip warmers on high all the time or do they have a variable temp setting? Higher the temp setting the more the voltage draw. Just a thought. |

| Well it looks like running a wire from your battery is what will give you piece of mined. Don't forget to install a fuse for this new wire and a relay. |

| Well, I had a close look at a wiring diagram today, but I am blowed if I can see a point in the loom, but that may well just be me. I guess in the absence of a definitive confirmation of a power point being available, I will run a twin core lead to the front of the bike instead Thanks for the help Dennis" |
