Of course I don't currently have a date in mind. I was just wanting to put this out as an idea and see if anyone was interested. Since the ride is so long we'd probably need to get a room for the night. There is a Harrah's Casino and hotel there (which is probably spendy) And I located a super 8 that is around $85/night. Perhaps there are cheaper rooms available but I didn't want to bore anyone with useless details if no one is interested but me.

So if this sounds like something you might be interested in let's think about some dates that work for everyone.

I have a couple friends locally that are interested in doing this ride and I thought I'd post this here and see if anyone wanted to meet us along the way or join up at the destination. Maybe someone would like to make a longer journey and meeting us at a rendezvous point here in Kansas City and go with us. I'm thinking possibly mid to late May. Would probably leave early Saturday morning and return to KC late Sunday evening.

Ok then, May 13(maybe) 14&15 is the date for the ride. I have one hurdle to jump between now and then. Jen has to work 8-5 on the 13th. She's asking if she can take off a couple hours early. If we can leave by 4, we could ride to Jeff city and stay there over night then press on early Saturday. If nobody likes that idea, then we'll leave extra early Saturday and just come back late on Sunday.

Let me know if you can go that weekend. Also, what price range of motel do you want to stay in? I'm game for anything up to $100/night so I don't care, but I think if we all stayed at the same place it'd be better for us. Holiday INN Express is $89.10/night non smoking. Good Reviews. Super 8 is $59.50 Mixed Reviews. Harrahs is $171/night, great reviews. I vote for Holiday Inn, but maybe someone knows a better place? Let me know.

We'll set a meeting place when it gets closer. I'm thinking all meeting up in Lees Summit somewhere. We'll get there when the time comes.

Well crap:

Severe flooding of the Mississippi and Ohio rivers in the area where we were gonna ride has forced me to cancel this ride. We had hotel reservations and everything. There were 5 of us going, as well as some people that were gonna meet us and ride with us some of the way. C'est la vie.

Is there another attempt going to made on this trip, or is it awash? (Pardon the pun!)
