i suppose it comes to us all but i would like to know the average age of the swing rider im 39 and consider myself young for a swing rider.been riding for 24 years me and the wife owning around 60 bikes in that time .but i feel really content on the swing maybe i am getting old

I' with 32 years young for the Silver Wing ) i think but my Silver Wing is one of the Old one with initial registration July 2001

I'm 57. Rode a bunch in high school and a bit in college and then gave it up after I got married and went into the Navy.

Re-entered riding about 5 years ago after taking an MSF class and receiving my M1 endorsement. Started with a mid-weight cruiser and have been riding that until about two months ago when I bought the SWing. Gave the cruiser to an amigo who wants to get back into riding but can't really afford a bike right now, so he gets to put some sweat equity into the cruiser and go take the MSF class to re-enter also.

The SWing is fabulous and I really enjoy riding it much more than the cruiser.

Not exactly sure the average age for a SWing rider, but my guess is that 39 is probably on the low side. SWing riders in their 30s aren't very common, but there are some. Also, there's no shortage of SWing riders in their 60s and older, so I wouldn't be surprised to learn the average age was low to mid 50s.

From the responders so far on this thread, we have the following ages: 39, 32, 71, 61, 57, 55, 50, 36, 73, 60, and 63 for an average age of 54.27 years.

56 here, been riding for 38 years. Maybe I am getting old, 'cause I really do like not having to shift. That strikes me as a bit odd, since my '07 Civic Si is a six-speed and shifting it (constantly!) doesn't bother me at all. The SWing is my 24th Honda, but that does include 9 cars.

Perhaps our esteemed admin, JeffR, can run some sort of report or extract against the birthdays in our profiles and come up with a true average age??

I'm 60- been riding since I was 16. Every brand and style, love my swing the best right now.

Chronologically: 62 Physically: 82 Mentally: ? (depends upon who you ask) Young enough to still ride and old enough not to try to impress others.

68 and been riding various motorcycles, motorscooters and motorbikes since 1956. Still going and enjoying my two wings, one of Silver and one of Gold. I suspect the average of Silverwing riders is past the point of worrying about being macho and such. Most young folks want sport bikes to impress each other. It takes time to get over that and realize a machine like the SW is practical, nearly maintenance free and just plain handy.

By going to the calendar and checking the ages listed (some aren't but most are) I came up with an average age of 56.14. Yes I lead an interesting life. Anyway as some wise philosopher once said; "It's not the years, it's the miles." So let's keep rolling up the miles and not worry about the years.

The Ulysses Club seems to be a great resource for, shall we say, senior riders....wish we had that organization here in the States.

I've already downloaded a treatise on leading rides...important to me because I've undertaken the job as team leader for our church's motorcycle crew.

Very nicely done and will be consulting the pages of the Ulysses website for more gems of knowledge...
