Call me old fashion. It takes a lot to get for someone to get on my $^1t list, but once they make the list, it takes a lot more to get them off.

Some of you have been on this forum long enough to know that John has banned almost everyone from his forum that has any different opinion from his . I believe I was the first. At least one of the first. Some have access again. I don't know and don't care if I do or not.

I say that to make the request for those of this forum that still have access to the .org one and still go there. Would it be possible to quote or maybe republish to this forum instead of just posting a link. Some of you have some really good information on there that was posted before John has his cranial burnout. I really never intend to go there again. No big deal if what I am requesting is not feasible or you think I am a nut job for being this way. This is where I live and you are enough of a knowledge base to satisfy any questions I have. I do not miss the other forum, only some of the information of yours that I accessed before.

I know I have not contributed much to the forum lately except for the silly stuff. I promise that will end when I get some wheels under me. Be patient with me for a few more weeks.... Thanks.

Dan... I got banned because I first was bragging on a product I bought from Dennis. I was not really advertising for Dennis at the time. I had not met and become friends with Dennis at the time. I only knew good quality work and thought I was being helpful to anyone that didn't know about Dennis' quality. John pulled some of my posts without telling me why and when I did question him and he explained HIS view of what was advertising, he really got pissed and pulled all my posts.

The ONLY time since that I have gone to Johns site is when someone on this forum puts a link and I have clicked on it without recognizing where the link goes. Now I do pay attention and it should NEVER happen again.

Gary,
There is a difference between being a "nutjob" (a term more often used in porn) and simply holding a grudge.

I find that it takes time and energy to hold a grudge, and its not worth mine.
I go there occasionally. Rarely do I find anything of use.
I don't think I've ever posted there since, except in the for sale section.
But avoiding it has no value to me.
If anything it provides me amusement and validation of my work there, that without us his board is..... vomit

Nothing wrong with that in my books. If it weren't for the funny stuff, life would be very boring.

bigbird,

I notice you made a post there about not posting links for some grips, and it was deleted too. He only gets about 3-4 posts a day and you would think he would get nicer so others would be more active there.

I may be bigbird, but he's big birdbrain. What can I say?
I try to do something for a member over there, and it gets deleted. I can't even PM the poor guy with the question about the grips, because if I even type the name of this forum as a referral for him to come take a look, it gets automatically deleted as well.

You all are making my point.... I WILL not give him the satisfaction of susseing OR snarking this great forum. So please humor me if the need arises again... just repost or resubmit information directly here without the links...

JeffR... you should be so proud of what you have started for us. Thank you for being so thoughtful and providing for us a FRIENDLY place to hang out.

Gary,

Thanks for the compliment but it is all of you that make it good. I think I posted this once but I really started this site since the silverwing.org site and the maxi-scoots.com site were having trouble with their sites. I didn't want them to just dissappear without having a place for silver wing riders to go to and keep all the information. If those sites didn't encounter the problems they had I would never have started this site.

But it is rediculous that the John, from the other site, is the way he is. I really liked that site when Dan (Dspevak) was the moderator..and was really the main admin guy since he really ran the place. I wish John would just ease up a bit and be nicer. But it is what it is I guess.

It is also hard for me to believe that he would delete posts like Bigbirds just for mentioning the fact he doesn't allow links. The member was asking where to get grips...or anything for that matter. That is what forums like his and this one are for. To get information.

But thanks and I will cut this short. This site belongs to all of us here and I'm just glad this site needs such minimal moderation since everyone is really so civil here. Thanks.

Totally concur. This is such a warm place to hang out, why go anywhere else?

I have popped into the other site, curiosity really, as you guys had mentioned it but the 'karma' just wasn't there. Never go there anymore, haven't even got it as a link on my machine now.

To JeffR, and all the rest of the forum users on here, thanks for making this a friendly place for all of us UK, US, Canadian, Australian and the rest of the Silver WIng world riders.

For sake of clarification (having never bothered to log into the .org site) is this John you are refering to our very own 'John Grisnell'?

NO, not the same... but they do have the same impression of Tennessee rest rooms....

John of the .org site is a brit.... that in itself is not meant to be insulting... just clarifying the two are definitely not the same fellow...

Our John is talking about returning to Europe... be on the look out...

When I said I was moving from England to Europe, several members there said things along the lines of 'Good riddance'.
I suspect what I'd said just before was a little bit too near the mark. Razz

Sorry, now I come to have a look on the above mentioned site, I have been there..... I found a few useful bits, but its almost dead as a door nail, virtually nothing going on! I've learned from my few years on the net that a large site with no traffic usually has a problem and in most cases its to do with the admin/moderators Wink

I can't comment on the current Admin as I don't think I've ever come across him/them but if I am honest the whole site looks a little out dated and amateurish by todays standards - even free forums (like this one) offer a far more polished presentation. Good luck to the guy, once you get a reputation as an 'overbearing little Hitler', its very hard to shake off and not likely to attract you many friends either lol.

Skippy.. suggestion to "meet" John... go to site, post something nice about this site... yep... that will be a learning experience. You might try saying how you love one of the items you bought from Dennis on this site. You will get to feel the love we are talking about.

I know it is obvious to all, but just a twinkle of sunshine here.... isn't it obvious that there is no discussion of being banned here by mentioning ANY other site we see and find something GOOD on... DUH JOHN....
