| I just purchased a 2003 Silver Wing and today I sold my 650 Burgman. I bought the Burgman about 5 months ago because several friends of mine told me it was the best scooter out there and I would be very happy with it......I got a great deal on a 2007 with 172 miles for $5000. I put 3000 miles on it and was pretty happy with the performance. Then I performed the 3000 maintenance and wow! what a task.....too much plastic to remove and it took forever to complete the task.....I also noticed how much of a problem it would be to do other maintenance such as spark plugs, etc. Then I started reading reviews about problems owners are having with the final drive gearing......well I was still happy with my purchase until about 2 weeks ago when I rode by a house and saw a silver and red Swing.....it caught my eye and I just had to stop and take a look....it was a 2003 with only 4300 miles on it.....I drove it home for the wife to see......we took a ride and she said with the rear butt block she felt closer to me and more comfortable that sitting 6" further behind me....she thought the seat was softer and the next coment was the seller for me.....she said that the Burman looked like and old mans bike next to the Swing.....well the rest is history. I am now the happy owner of that Swing and I performed 4000 mile maintenance and what a difference.... |

| I agree with your wife. I dislike the look of the Burgman 650 very much.
Congratulations and welcome. |

| Hey Jon,
Welcome to the site and congrats on the purchase of the Silverwing. From what I have heard, the maintenance is a little difficult on the Burgi.
Enjoy!!! |

| Hope you enjoy your Swing as much as I have enjoyed mine. I thought I wanted to buy a Burgman 650, but I got the Swing instead and I am so glad I did. |

| The first thing I thought when I saw the Burgman 650 was "there's a Toyota Tercel out there somewhere missing its mirrors." |

That's odd -- the mirrors are the only things that I like about the Burgie. |

Hadn't heard that description before, but she may be on to something there. |
