In Europe, the Silverwing is either 400cc or 600cc.

It depends if your battery charger handle AGM battery types.
Disconnect the light-bulb under the seat to preserve the battery from accidental run-down.

Facing the front of the Silverwing, shine a flashlight under the left side and check the level of the coolant. Monitor frequently, to determine if you have a leak._________________ Bill - Georgetown TX 07 Silver Wing ABS Clearview w/vent, Givi E96/TB19/E52 with Admore Lighting, Alaskan Leather, Wrist Rests, 3M Solas tape, K&N air, Hyperpro spring, Grip Puppies, Airhawk, Utopia backrest, Stebel, Apexcone HIDs, StingerZ LEDs (w/Backoff WigWag), Knight Rider Sequential LED, NGK Iridium, Power Commander III, Manic Salamander, Saeng mirrors, Garmin Zumo 660, Dark-Side Sumitomo Tire |

| Agree with Mike,
Here in the UK it is common practice to confuse the Honda S-Wing, (125cc) with the accepted abreviated version of the Silver Wing (SWing).
Totally a diferent machine albeit still a Honda. |

| Thanks for the response As I am only just back to scootering after all those years ( an old Vespa man) please forgive me for confusing a Honda S-Wing with a Honda Silverwing.. In my ignornace I had just thought the larger scooters were larger versions of what i have...but apparently not so....but I am now better informed. Certainly the 125cc is big enough for me at present given my lack of experience...it nicks on... So I think I am on the wrong Forum? Need to find a Honda S-Wing forum...any knowledge of such a thing?
but thanks for the helpful responses and safe travelling. You never know one day i may upgrade to a Silverwing.

Derek,
Why not stay a member of this forum and sell your S-Wing and buy a SWing? After a very short while you will probably find you need a bit more go than a 125cc bike gives, particularly if you want to do any riding outside town. I came back to riding with a Vespa 150cc and moved on to a Honda CB900F Hornet (probably a little too big a step) then onto the SWing.
I understand the need to ride a small displacement bike when you are new or coming back to riding; but that nervous feeling soon fades.
Enjoy your scootering!

| Mike: Thanks for the link. I had never heard of the 125 S-Wing. It looks like a neat scoot.
Derek, Stick around. There is a wealth of information on this forum regardless of which scoot you ride. Enjoy your S-Wing. Cheers DCC |

| I think there is nothing wrong with moving up the bike size as you get used to it. Men have a tendency I think to get something too big before they have experience. The last 20 years I have slowly gotten bigger scoots. I had a 125 Elite about 20 years ago. Then I got a used Helix and had that a few years. Then I bought a new Helix and had that for three years and last year bought my 09 Silverwing. I have just loved this bike and am on it every chance I get. Take a good safely class and continue to grow and learn is the key. |

Agree, I started on a 125, then moved up a 400 when comfortable, currently ride my 600 Silver Wing. Every transition to a bigger engine felt right with my age and experience levels.
As they say, you have to start somewhere. I knew far too many who started big and never lived to enjoy their lives or machines. |

| Now i have 2000 Miles with my SW. Still thinking it's to much power. Maybe a 400 is ok for me? Who knows... I will keep the 600. |

| Does anyone know if the S-Wing shown above is the same as the new PCX (125cc) that Honda is introducing here in the US? It looks the same except that the PCX does not have a large windscreen. |

| I was just reading about the PCX yesterday. According to the article, the PCX is built in Honda's plant in Thailand. This has allowed them to keep costs down and for the first time, release a new model at the same time in many different markets, something Honda has not done before. |

| if you wish to see more detail on the PCX ( and also my S-Wing) go to www.honda.co.uk and click on motorbikes and then scooters The PCX is a nice scooter. It was released in the UK fairly recently Saw one in the dealership when I was looking around to get a scooter but not as yet seen one on the road. On the web page you will get a better idea of the S-Wing Derekg
