Well, we just got our 800th member to the site. Welcome 'burbur74". I always wondered how so many here picked their user names. It took me years to come up with mine.

My name came from a game of golf. My real name is Doug and when I was golfing a lot I was pretty deadly tee-to-green but a horrible putter. Once when I hit one stiff from pretty far out a player on my opponent's team lamented that I hit every single green in regulation.

His partner said "On the green in regulation? Don't worry, Doug'll Bogey."

From that point on a three-putt bogey became known as a "duggle-bogey" (because it kinda sounds like double-bogey) and they started calling me the same.

Incidentally, I don't think there's two hobbies that go together worse than cycling and golf...

My buddy hauls his golf clubs on his SWing -- I once thought he had a really long CB antenna and then looked closer and realized he'd bungeed a driver to his back seat!

Hey Doug, Don't feel bad, I never met a green I couldn't 3 putt.
