Mine is very smooth, especially with the J. Costa. I'm sure Scott at Crown will let you try another. Last time we were there they had 2 in the showroom.

Derek,

Do you know of anyone else in your city (maybe your dealer can refer you to someone) who has a Silverwing who could take yours for a quick ride and see if it feels, sounds, and acts the same as theirs? I've ridden two Silverwings and they both felt identical and the same in the way they feel, sound, and ride so if one had a vibration or something that was wrong, I probably would have felt it. This would be a good way to get the opinion of someone who has a good frame of reference. Good luck and enjoy your Silverwing!

Derek next time we ride together we can trade bikes for a mile or two and then you will know . My buddy had a vibration like that and it was his garage door opener in the rt compartment .Another one had loose plastic over the rad .It is amazing, what these things can cause .

Likewise if you're up in the neighbourhood by the dealer I am 2 blocks away. I can certainly take yours for a quick spin. You can see how smooth mine is.

PostSubject: 08 With vibration problem   Mon Aug 30, 2010 2:09 pm

Just purchased a 08 Silverwing with 10k miles. Runs great, however has a serious vibration starting at about 4000 RPM and thru 5000 RPM, can be felt on the floorboard, in the hand grips and seen in the mirrors. Having owned an 02 and 05, never remember anything like this. My friend has a 09 and he has the same problem. I am thinking possible trans or bearing problem in the trans. Steve

It almost sounds like a tire balance problem.

It is not a tire balance problem, when you are on the throttle and going thru 40 to 50 mph with a load on the engine is when the vibration occurs, let go of the throttle and the vibration stops.

Try cleaning your variator rollers. They can get really gunked up with rubber from the belt.

One more thing you might check is the belt. Check it for wear
