| Here goes my first post:
Regarding attaching Givi monokey hard cases to a 2002-2009 Silverwing 600
It seems as though putting hard cases on a Silverwing is somewhat of a 'Holy Grail' type unattainable thing but I am convinced there is a simple way.
I apologize for not having done this mod yet but I just bought my Swing last week and haven't even received it yet. Ha.
People have posted posts regarding the mounting bracket P206 for Givi soft bags T467,T457 &T450, the T450 being a 50 liter bag which has the potential to be pretty heavy which leads me to believe that the brackets could support hard cases. But unfortunately with the P206 it only mounts to the right side.
Givi P206 is the right side mount for monokey bags
http://www.givi.co.uk/attachfile/content/prodotti_regionali_uk/38155/0.0.1.man_p206.pdf
Givi T222 is the left side mount for monokey bags
http://www.givi.it/attachfile/content/prodotti_padre/46118/0.0.1.man_t222.pdf
It looks as thought the T222 is sold only in the UK (for the 2009 SW-T400 which when P206 is installed as the right side version fits 2002-2009 Silverwing 600's)
I intend on ordering both and attaching a pair of Monokey Givi hard cases to my 2005 Silverwing.
I am not overly worried about having to do a modification or two as I am a welder and will mod if need be, but I don't expect that I will need to.
I will post a pic later on this summer when I am Mr. Hard Case Luggage Dude (I expect to be referred to as such once the mod is complete).
I have to say that due in large part to this forum I bought a 2005 Silverwing sight unseen last week and will receive it next month as it is being shipped by a friend when he comes to visit.

| rockcreation, Dan, Mr. Hard Case Luggage Dude,
No identity crisis looming is there? Welcome and much luck on the hard case installation. They may beat a path to your door.
So happy to see your sense of humour (notice I spelled it wrong just for you).

| Dan, Welcome to the site and also hope you are an active member. We have quite a few members from your side of the pond (I'm assuming you are from England). You might also try www.silverwing.org site and see what they have in their 'accessories" link. "DSpevac", who replied to this post, is a moderator on that site and also has a huge amount of knowledge and experience with the SWing. You might find something over there with all their links to accessories. Please go to the "Albums" section and create your own folder to post some pics of your bike and rides. Again, welcome. _________________ Ride safe, JeffR 2007 Silver Wing (30,000 miles) 2005 Majesty 400 (sold 12,500 miles) 2004 Reflex (sold 3,500 miles) Givi Windshield, top case, vista cruise, power commander, dr pulley sliders, air hawk seat pad, (J. | Wow, thanks for the kind words of welcome,
Alright, alright, I suppose I am getting a little carried away with all this 'hard saddle bag' talk, what with not even having received (or even ridden) my Swing yet and all.
In my defence, I am from Canada and it has been a loooooong winter, it is time to get out and ride but i am stuck riding my 2007 Honda Reflex which is nice and all but 0-60 in 14 seconds please, I'd like to think I can be in more of a hurry than that if I want to be.
On another note, my wife and I welcomed our second son into the world last Monday, yep another kid to buy a scooter for one day, awesome.

| Most hearty congratulations on the new son! We raised two boys, and through our church we have all the grand daughters we could hope for. I love my boys (men). _________________ Dale Huntsville, AL

| The boy's name Morgan \m(o)-rgan, mor-gan\, also used as girl's name Morgan, is pronounced MOR-gan. It is of Welsh origin, and its meaning is "circling sea". Also possibly (Welsh) "great brightness" or (Old English) "bright or white sea dweller"
You may have a future fisherman... sounds like he has a bright future. Hug the little man while he will let you hold him and he thinks he needs a dad. The day will come (and years from now it will seem like just yesterday) when he will want nothing to do with parent. The "I can do it myself" syndrome will kick in and he WILL do it himself.
My two girls are grown with kids of their own and they and the grandkids continue to bless my life everyday.
Tell Morgan that the forum says welcome to life. |
