From www.wildhogss.com

Here we go - 4th Annual Blue Ridge Ride
Friday, June 18 and Saturday, June 19 2010.

Friday, June 18 - Lunch at 11:30 to 1:00 Dillsboro Smokehouse
BBQ -267 Haywood Rd. N.C. 28725

Saturday, June 19 - Cherokee, NC - Meet at Oconaluftee Visitor Center the southern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway (BRP).
Meet & greet 9:00am - to 9:45
Depart - 10:00 to Pisgah Inn for lunch. Approximately a 65 mile ride on the BRP to the Pisgah Inn.

We now have the Pioneer Motel & cabins 828-497-2435 tell them you are with the Scooter Ride to get a room rate of $68:00, we have to book at least 10 rooms to get this rate - we always do. This is the best ride because of the people you will meet from all over.

This is a relaxing ride. The Blue Ridge Parkway (BRP) in this section is really smooth. Full of curves and a great road surface. If the route is the same as previous there will be two stops along the way. The speed limit on the BRP is 45 mph if I remember correctly.

This is a true scooter ride and there are a variety of riders with a variety of riding skills. This is a feel good ride. If you want to scrape your knees on the pavement as you carve the curves, this is not your ride. But, you will meet a good crowd of people and will most likely really enjoy yourself if you attend.

Kim and I will not make this one this year. Too much work!

Anyone else that lives close and plans to go?

This event has a strong Burgman presence, but don't let that scare you off.

This looks like an interesting ride - any idea when info will be available for 2011?

It is still a bit early, but it looks like the weekend of June 17, 18 & 19.

I'll keep this posted.

This is a great idea. I would like to be part of this next year but can't do it in 2011. It has been an item on my bucket list to ride the Blue Ridge from one end to the other. I am hoping I can ride from Asheville, NC to Boone and back this fall. Please post your plans for 2012 when they are available.

I found out about this ride from some friends that are Burgman riders. They have a link on their board under Rally's. Although a lot of the scoots will be Suzukis, any brand should be fine as long as it can handle the hills.

Although it was mostly Burgmen, there were three Silverwings, two motorcycles, a TMAX or two, and one Aprilia Atlantic. Great group of people and a wonderful ride. There were probably about 30 bikes altogether, mostly from the Southeast but at least two that were from Ohio.

A rider from GA who happened to be there the same weekend grabbed a few photos on the Blue Ridge Parkway ride. They can be found here:

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=699862

They seem to have the same ride each year. There is no brand exclusivity, but it does seem to be talked about the most on the Burgman forum. If anybody is interested, they should plan to attend. I had a great time and will attend next year.
