| Hello! I've had my SilverWing for about two months now. One of the reasons I bought it was to be able to tour better than I could on my previous Honda CB900F. Well, recently it got it first serious run. A mate and I spent 5 days (November 16 to 20) touring over a parts of New South Wales (that's in Australia ). I do a ride report for another organisation that I belong to so I thought some of the readers of this forum might be interested also. You can click here to visit my website and have a read/laugh/what ever. The SilverWing performed flawlessly. We did 2020 km and I averaged 4.14 ltr/100km (which I think is nearly 57 mpg in US money). There has been some discussion on this forum about Honda's NT-700 Deauville touring motorcycle. Well my riding companion has one of these and it also went very well. Regards, Peter |

| Superb write up.
I chuckled at the reference to Hexham Bridge, Newcastle, Hexham, (UK) is where I was born and I lived in Newcastle, (UK), in my youth.
Some excellent scenery to ride along.
Not the weather in the Uk for a venture like that right now. _________________ Doug

| Waspie and jdeereanton, Thanks for the kind words. Waspie, you know how Australia started, all the dross from the UK were sent out here and nobody had the imagination to make up new place names so they just named everything after their old home . For example, one of my favourite towns in Victoria is Portland, its on the west coast of Victoria facing out into Bass Straight. It quite cold here today after last week, its down to 27 degrees C Regards, Peter |

Peter I am way too polite to remind you chaps of your beginnings. However, if the programs coming out of Australia are anything to go by it is a very popular place to live these days. Many Brits are in awe of your countries stance on immigration and the pride you still have in your nation that we have allowed to be diluted.
My mother lived up near Cairns for a while before she returned to the UK on medical grounds.
If I had a choice of locations in the world to live, Australia would be up in the top three. (If only for the riding)

| Great job on documenting the ride. We are just heading into winter here in the North. Good riding weather is going to be getting scarce for us soon, so write all you can. I look forward to hearing more from you. _________________ DennisB - 2008 Silverwing Owner - Forum Moderator Favorite quotation: "Lord, we give you Curly. Try not to piss him off". |
