PostSubject: My wife and I went on a nice 50 mile ride.. and then it was sushi !!!   Fri May 29, 2009 8:39 pm

Hi,

My wife and I was able to go for a nice 50 mile ride through twisty and very scenic roads. We didn't really ever go over 50 mph or so with the lowest speeds around 30-35. I am able to take this road home many times from work and it is really a nice relaxing ride. Our daughter is having a camp out for her girl scout troup so it is a real treat to be able to do things like this.

After the ride we went to a nice Sushi restaurant that has the boats, with the sushi on them, going around in circles so you just take what you want. Sushi is one of my favorite dinners and my wife is getting to really enjoy it too. But the SWing did great, even though this is a short ride for us, and my wife commented again on how much more she enjoys the SWing over the Majesty I had before this. The Majesty is a great scoot but the SWing is really smooth and comfortable. I think I will be getting a set of DennisB's armrest when they are ready...my wife also commented on wanting to sit back more but doesn't feel comfortable just leaning against the top case. She doesn't really have a lot of experience riding in her life so she has a hard time just leaning back. Maybe the armrests will help her relax a bit more. Other than that she loves the SWing and is much more comfortable for her than the Majesty. swing

PostSubject: Wife's' day out   Sat May 30, 2009 5:08 am

Jeff, must be mating season or something... maybe just nice weather. We have had nothing but rain for almost the whole month of May here. Friday was nice. Well, actually it was better than nice... it was PERFECT riding weather. I took the butt rest off and my wife climbed on, put her Dennisb's armrests down and she and I took a ride similar to yours in length. I think it was a little less than 50 miles round trip. Very scenic quiet county road. Has a lot of the canopy growth of trees for quite a bit of the trip. I was going about 25 mph just to make it last longer. We drove to a little country store out in the boonies that has fish and shrimp. I am just not into the sue she thing. I like my fish boiled in grease. Anyway, the swing is a real nice way to see the country. When we left the eating place there was an older couple that came out with us. The lady asked my wife how she liked to ride. The reply was that she really liked it. The lady wanted to watch her get on and then watch us leave. I think the lady was about 80 and would be easy to talk into getting on a swing. As my best friends grandson says... " you bike is elegant". I couldn't agree more.

Jeff...sounds like you really enjoyed you ride with your wife. After almost 40 years of marriage (and riding together) it still is my favorite thing to do. Just the two of you enjoying the moment. And oh the memories as you get older. And at our age there is a lot of memories. We have arm rests on The GW. I am sure you will like them on the Swing. Take care and God Bless...Dick

Guys,

Thanks for the ride recap. It is fun to read about others rides. I enjoyed the descriptions of the ride and the other activities.

Dick,

It is enjoyable to ride around with the wife on back and I'm sure you have a lot of memories to share. Makes life that much better. Also, it must be nice to have a GoldWing and Silver Wing...I have always wanted to ride one of those.

Opal,

How does your wife like the armrests? I'm really hoping Dennis is able to produce them again.. hint..hint. Dennis !!! Laughing Must make the ride more comfortable on back.

Dale,

I also enjoy reading about others rides and hope that spring is here now in the entire country that we will start to see many more stories here. I was wanting to bring the camera but forgot to, so maybe next time. It seems stories are always nicer with pics..

Jeff, My wife loves the armrests. I don't think she has adjusted to leaning back on the back rest just yet. She still wants to cling to me. That is not all bad. We will be having our 34 year anniversary in August. If it works out. The armrests have gotten a bunch of looks from friends and other riders. They are so very well made and I am really proud to have them on my scoot.
Dennis is almost ready to start shipping the new design. Order yours and get on the top of the list. Your wife will love em too. I promise.
Gary
