| After the first day of a world brewing convention in the states, the CEO's of various brewing organisations retire to the bar.
Bruce, the CEO of Fosters, shouts to the barman: "In 'Straiyla, we make the best beer in the world, so pour me a Fosters mate.
Bob, CEO of Budweiser calls out next: "In the States we brew the finest beer known to mankind and i make the king of them all. Gimme a Bud".
Hans steps up next: "In Germany we invented das beer. Give me ein Becks, der real King of beers."
Paddy, CEO of Guinness steps forward: "Barman give me a diet coke with ice and lemon please."
The others stare at him in stunned silence, amazement written over their faces. Eventually Bruce asks: "Are you not going to have a Guinness Pat?"
To which Paddy replies "Well, if you pussies aren't drinking, then neither am I". |

| While Beck's is a German beer and it is a pilsner. I personally do not consider it a german beer. Bremen is far from the center of beer brewing.
I prefer the earthier beers of Bavaria / Franconia. Most especially the Weitzen beers from Bayreuth (birthplace of Wagner). Spring beers like Maizel Dampf are also very tasty. If I want a pilsner it will be a Paulaner Premium Pils. Lowenbrau is in the same category as Beck's in my book - too commercial.
Kurt, tell me you don't drink Fosters! |

| I don't, we just market it for the international visitors and the Poms. (Poms= Limeys) I particularly am not a beer drinker so it all tastes the same to me LOL The Becks we get here is generally made under license in Melbourne by Carlton and United, who also make Fosters. However the imported Becks seens to fare better and it costs heaps more here. There are some designer beers around that get good reviews, but the beer of choice is VB, another CUB product. |

| Kurt, I really liked that one. You really get some good jokes, keep 'em coming. Since my wife is Dutch I have been to Holland quite a few times and really like Amstel & Grolsch. We only get Amstel Light in the states but Amstel is my favorite beer, even though I don't really drink much at all. We were driving around Holland once, with her sisters family during the Mad Cow period, and went into Germany trying to get back to where we needed to go in Holland. It's a long story but many roads were closed off to traffic. But anyway, we finally got back into Holland and stopped in a very very small town for lunch. When we got in the bar/restaurant the bar tender said we need to order the Grolsch since they had a Brewery in town. So we ordered it and it was fresh that day and was great. It tasted much better then the Grolsch we buy off the shelve here. But I couldn't believe that such a small town had a Brewery and that the fresh beer was the best beer I have ever had. I could become a "Beer-a-holic" if I lived in that town. lol _________________ Ride safe,

| I've had a Victoria Bitter and it was an acceptable brew. I don't drink often, but have an extensive hhistory - that's why I don't drink often anymore.
Having lived in Germany for almost 10 years I really enjoyed small town breweries. |

| My favorite brand is the "Diet A&W Root". Available everywhere. When I was a young lad fresh out of high school in 1962. I was 6'1" and weighed 119 pounds. I tried everything to gain weight including trying to drink beer. I tried every brand in America and could not swallow any of them. They all looked good and I felt like a girly man because I could not drink the stuff. I had to drink the rums and wines mixed with some flavored drink for my outings. Funny thing now is that I am 6' and weigh about 230 pounds and seem to gain weight just breathing. _________________ If you are looking for an option to prolong your riding opportunities. | Gary I can relate to the weight gain problem. I dont think it is the Arkansas water because the water in Missouri is having the same effect. Since everyone in the U.S. seams to be getting portly it must be a goverment plot to pass the health care bill. The only thing that I am sure of is it is not related to sugar because I have A high tolerance to sugar. |

| I think it is a government plot too. When I joined the Marines I was only 132 lbs. They quickly put 36 lbs on me in boot camp. But now I'm about 210 lbs. But it is a very "manly" 210 lbs. I was thinking of starting a post about the health care bill but decided not too. We seem to be a very respectful group but I think that may put some over the edge. It is going to be interesting. _________________ Ride safe,

| Come on Jon... are you bragging about not gaining any weight since you have gotten older..? By the way speaking of plots... how far are you from Roswell NM? I believe some of my relatives are still locked up in that hanger.
I might try a beer from Altair in the constellation of Aquilae. _________________ If you are looking for an option to prolong your riding opportunities. Go to the trinitytrike.com site at http://tinyurl.com/256nn25 (Open in new window) for options and information. |

| You are a lot closer to Roswell than I am.
I was not complaining about weight gain, I was complaining about politics. _________________ Jon
